I agree about the tirrols big ammer, i was out in them the other day and it was chucking it down in long grass and i still had dry feet despite them not being goretex. just put beeswax on them and blow over with a hot hairdryer and the wax melts into all the seems. I do this once every 6 weeks roughly. I find my haixs don't last me much longer then a year before the sole starts coming apart. Iv had tirrols for 6months now and with hard use they still look like new apart from a few scuffs. They look cool too- real mans boot:lol:

Iv never used a jensen but having a good look at them at the APF i was very impressed with the build quality, particularly the flywheel design. I am having a demo for one soon. Im interested to see how the one sided feeded roller design compares to Timberwolfs

Chris i would definiatly recomend the pfanner air tirrols, I got a pair at the start of the year and they are super tough- a real forestry boot. Expensive but probably cheaper in the longrun as i reckon they'll last twice as long as my old Haixs.

roughly 80-90k would be a comfortable turnover. probably most 2 man bands come nearer to 70 though i should think.

Thought the APF was a cracking turnout, I wish id had another day to spend there but still... Met the one and only Easy lift guy- great to meet you Ted, Your product was fantastic and I will certainly be ordering one in the near future.I dare say i brushed shoulders with many arbtalkers without knowing it! for me one highlight was being able to see the BRyce suma tracked postdriver (the smaller one) in the flesh, I reckon if i had that machine Id probably double my productivity and profit.

8-9 hours is my ideal and most nights i get it, sometimes only 6-7 tho if i have a lot on my mind as it takes a while to drift of. As for brekkie, its always porridge, keeps me going till 1pm before i feel the need to open my lunchbox.

blimey fair play if you can get it, i don't get much more for me and my tracked chipper if im subbying out. if i was too much more theyd just hire a chipper from the local for £120 and a good groundy can be found for £80-£100.

im guessing he means he is the backup climber and groundy, so in effect how much for him and the chipper in which case £200 isnt far of for a TW125

Yeah that herbst is exactly the sort of thing im after, but its probably a bit heavy duty for my needs, its only a 70hp tractor towing it so this trailer would never be able to have more then a few tones on before it gets a bit heavy. The right idea tho maybe the single axle trailers don't offer it because it would be hard to get the weight distribution right with a digger on?

Looking at a trailer to go behind my tractor, plenty out there, but i need one which can tip carry woodchip and logs yet still be used to carry a digger, all the ones i look at online never seem to have the option to have ramps or anymention of being able to carry plant. Does any one know of a manufacturer who does such a trailer needs to be around 5-6 ton . Or is there a good reason why none of them offer ramps ie not compatible. cheers, Matt

I used to wear a copper magnet bracelet for about three years, was told it was meant to help with prevention with arthiritise which runs in my family, i don't have any signs of it but i doubt it was the copper braclet! i found it abit of a nuisance in the end so stopped wearing it.

My current Timberwolf is excellent when its going but having to have the bearings replaced twice in one year is starting to grate a bit plus i fancy buying a machine from new so i can treat it like a baby from the start! So looking around it certainly isn't going to be another TW and am quite keen on the new TP 160 tracked. I have quite a lot of experiance of the TP200 pto which is an awesome machine. If the tracked model comes anywhere close then it will definiatly be an option. Anyone tried one and most importantly can you grease the bearings- doesn't mention that on their website.

just read this thread, it isn't that bad down this way is it? I know of no-one in my area (west devon dartmoor) who is charging that, i charge much more then this and i win most of my work. at 220 by the time id paid my groundy, fuel and usual expenses id have about £50 for myself, no thanks!

So the last 4 years you spent convincing people to buy a jensen over a timberwolf is suddenly reversed. Id keep that one quiet to potential timberwolf customers:001_smile: unless theres a good reason you made the change ie timberwolf are about to release a new model which will blow all the competition out of the water in which case PM me:thumbup1:

Day to Day Business Organisation.

I have a A5 note book which i right down the customers details and the job details/spec. I then send them an email if needed with the quote. I then have a pre printed invoice book in the truck withall my payment details on which i write out and either give it to them at the end of the job or send if its a bigger organisation. On the whole an A5 book lasts me a year then i just keep it for my records and buy a new one for the next year. -

£750 sounds fine to me considering the work youv put into it and the quality of work, add on decent materials, vat and delivery and how could it be any less really. Trouble is they see all the mass produced rubbish at BandQ selling for a few hundred max and they might not be able to work out why yours is so much more. Nice bench though!
