  1. I have quite a few clients that i cut a 10inch log in half for, they are very grateful! Stupidly i dont even charge extra for it....
  2. Some one messaged ArbTalk and said there was snow on the way, id like to say thats total bollocks... ;-)
  3. Yeah even with a splitter the stuff can be a c0ck. Love burning it though, all the oil in it makes it burn like buggery
  4. Good burner, tough to split when dry.
  5. [email protected] This is what they are building. JK FABRICATIONS - Home
  6. There is a guy in Ireland making them, he sells via eBay. Might be worth asking if he would sell you a plan for one of his? I have his email if interested
  7. LoL never heard that one before...
  8. Same here, just spent the morning ensuring i have 25 cubic meters all covered. I think when i get a barn most will be inside though as i think i end up with a cleaner looking log if they are covered for the whole seasoning process. Never had an issue with mould so long as there is good ventilation.. not a problem with any of my under cover areas! lol
  9. Just what you see in on the train trailer Dave, it wasnt even a full pickup load. 3 cubic meters i recon, so should earn me £360 at some point in the future.
  10. I had asked, pleaded, begged, for us to use Anny the steam loco but no one apart from us fancied the 6am fire up for a 9am start! Still, the Walrus lived up to his name and showed a lot of power. Riding on the logs behind back up the track was superb fun, all in all it's not a mornings work I will forget in a hurry! Sure beats the **** outta working in an office....
  11. I had a great morning today! I was contacted by a narrow gauge railway 'Groudle Railway' last week, they are an enthusiast ran railway that relies on donations etc to keep going. Anyway they had recieved quotes of £2000 - £2500 to remove 4 small sycamores, the chairman asked me if i fancied helping out so i did it for the wood and for the experience! Took me 40 mins last thursday to drop and chop the 4 trees, and this morning we spent 3 hours using the Diesel Engined Walrus to drag the lumps up onto the platform out of the glen. Then hauled them down the track to where id manage to get my pickup. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4NmO60c0R8&feature=g-upl]Walrus - YouTube[/ame]
  12. 1st log through my new home made splitter... Log exploded/ split and mashed my finger into the safety rail of all things. Not wearing gloves... Owch
  13. I am loving my 346XP-G with a 15" bar.
  14. I was told I had CT by my gp, I went to see a sports physio who said it was a problem with my back. 3 1 hour sessions later and the numbness and tingling had gone. The physio cost £45 a session I think, best money I ever spent.
  15. From what i have seen a processor holds its value very well, I doubt very much you will get any bargains.
  16. Thanks everone ill follow up your suggestions.
