  7. Thanks for advice along the way as I searched for a tractor. Brought this Ford 4000 home today to start a working restoration with the kids. It'll earn its keep around the woods and farm as the kids learn some engineering. Looking forward to it. Dave

  14. Not sure about loader. Intend to remove and use rams on other projects. May even sell on. Paid 2k no vat. Delivery, 400 miles, could go as high as 600 but hoping for a back load. Pics will follow. Dave

  16. Doobin, Thanks for your thoughts. I came to pretty much the same conclusion. I've found the right machine for me now and it's winging its way to me.... At least it will be when I find a haulier to shift it! I found a reasonable Ford 4000 with loader. Tin work needs attention but no worries. Dave

  20. Dipping into the experience of the forum again. Are the 595's as bad as people say? Can't help but think if it's made it this far in its life it's a good one. Bad ones long gone. No ideas on leyland but hear turbo issues. Any thoughts? Thanks again. Dave

  24. Been looking at a tractor on an ad site. Looks good. Now seller wants me to buy via ebay then will deliver. Could all be straight up but makes me nervous but I do like the tractor. Any experiences? Dave
