  1. I bought one today and the weight and balance seems pretty good but it seems to have a lag on the throttle, its not the chain that causes it as it turns freely, anybody else got one and had the same ?
  2. Any pictures of the the brush piles, they should be close by Joking aside I have seen lots worse and it does seem they atleast left 1 draw shoot
  3. I think us axe finders should start a club, check out Grahams find http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/38511-old-axe-really-old-axe.html
  4. Cheers for the info Clima I to have found an axe head but my thread was rather long winded http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/32153-guess-what-i-found-yesterday-11.html
  5. Strange how the metal runs down where the shaft should be, not sure how a handle would fit. My best suggestion is me popping over later in the year with the metal detector and see what else lurks beneath your garden .
  6. You've done well there then the fans have snapped on mine and thats after only being on the machine for 200 hours. They seem to be made of a real grainy monkey metal probably melted down matchbox toys or the like. Can they be replaced without removing the fly wheels ?
  7. In the 10 years how many times have you changed the bearings ?
  8. The fans are also made of Swiss cheese:thumbdown: why they were'nt steel defies logic to me, and before someone says it because of the weight of the steel over the weigh of Swiss cheese Im sure this could be factored in on design, seems they are made to break.
  9. A car pitch has gone from £7 to £10 aswell, I recon they will end up worse off as people, me included will just go else where.
  10. I got charged £1 to park at Fontwell bootsale this morning I've been going there for 20 years and never been charged before guess they are just cashing in but I wont be going again.
  11. Hi Jon did the chap look like this guy by any chance ?
  12. Forgot Thuja and bay which both smell nice
  13. Cedar is a nice smell but Horse chestnut with abit of rot is the pits Holly is'nt a pleasent smell imo nor is oak, Elder burnt on an open fire smells like dog pee but the smell of fresh cut elder will always remind me of playing on the farm as a kid
  14. Another cracking day today with plenty of cups of tea and even an ice cream
  15. Spent 15 mins on the phone to a company that has been sending me texts for the last 2 weeks and they said they could'nt provide cover as its a tipper:confused1:. I've gone with trust, they took 3 minutes to quote me and the cost was just a few quid more than I was paying Coop but the trailer is now covered, plus imo its reassuring that its with a company that understand the trade were in .
  16. Got my PL with them and found Cam to be a top chap so Ill give them a bell.
  17. Not a fan of the NFU but thanks
  18. Been with the Coop for 19 years and even had my PL with them for 8 years, just rang to renew the policy and was told because of the ali sides on the tipper body were'nt standard, they could'nt provide cover. who's told the insurance about body mods and still managed to get a decent quote and who was its from ? Plus it would be handy if the chipper was covered but never has been in the past to my knowledge.
  19. The picture is'nt a prize winner nor was the tree but the sun on my back after what seems like 2 years of rain and snow was priceless.
  20. I bought two 6 month old pigs from an organic farm I shoot and had them slaughtered and placed in a chiller for 4 days, got them back watched a demo on how to butcher a carcass on youtube and put 65 lb of pork in my freezer and the same in a mates for less than £1.50 per lb. You would'nt belive how easy it is to do and how rewarding it is to cook and eat meat when you know exactly where its come from and what its been fed on. For my next trick im going to buy a mincer and have a bash at making sausages.
  21. Ill try again Dean get the air rifle out and get some fresh meat that has'nt been messed around with
  22. .....
  23. It does up tight but still leaks a tad, Ill probably wind a screw in the drain pipe for now until I work out what to do with it.
  24. Drained the tank and fixed the leak plus a new battery and the old girl is going well apart from the smoke, It filled the yard when it started but cleared some what after half an hour but still aint right, my guess is valve seals failing that a scored or worn cylinder and rings. other than that fault the front brakes leak one side and both stick plus the back ones have loads of travel and do nothing to help it stop. Going to ride it round for a while and then work out how much its worth me spending, got half an idea to put abit of money with it and buy an agri spec road legal one and have done with it but ill let you know
  25. Cheers for the tip the bloomin thing is leaking fuel now
