  3. Climbing Site Located just outside the village of Birling. From Birling village head towards Snodland on the Snodland Road. Follow Snodland Road passing Birling church on the right. There is a stone wall on the right, follow this for about half a mile. this will take you past the junction with Stangate Road. Approximately 100 yards after this junction with Stangate Road there is an entrance (gateway in the stone wall) on the right. Meet us all here. Look forward to seeing you all on the 6th.
  4. I have done a few tests on old Karabiners, especially the ones that have bin dragged along the ground on the end of short strops, some of them hold at 30kn and some brake at only 4kn. Depending on manufacture.

  14. as the others mentioned take your time try and do things in slow motion. don't let the saw go all over the place you must control the saw not the saw control you. if you are using a stick in the sink cut to help achieve a parallel hinge make sure its a straight one. if you are not sure ask your instructor how its done. don't fell to high, the lower you fell the safer the fell will be. when i instruct candidates with no experience the easier it is. experienced candidates can have some bad habits. Take your time you'll be fine.

  17. as you said cut it at 6 ft. then winch it back the other way. try and take some of the root ball away with the 6ft that is the most valuable timber in wallnut
