  1. i met Tom last week for the first time, and from the short time that i spent with him he came across as a very promising young arborist. Excellent attitude and ability to communicate, also an efficient young climber. Good luck for the future Tom!
  2. Yes 33 was large trees but nptc have dun away with that unit, they claim that cs32 covers the larger trees now
  3. CS 32 YES CS33 Dose not exist at the moment. what part of the country will it be ?
  4. I will make the necessary inquiries. Should i mention there is a brewery on site now

  7. I know what you mean, the problem is the minority cause the problem for the majority. one brief example. a candidate turned up for a CS39 course his boss had lolerd his kit and his work position strop was that bad i would not even use it for a dog lead
  8. For those of you in the South East this may help IOSH SE Arb Event Flyer - 17 March 2011.pdf
  9. Sorry to sound vague Justin. you posted copies of your well earned certificates, but nothing else, someone else said "Does that mean they have to be qualified climbers"? The answer is yes they do have to be a qualified climber. HSE recommendations are to hold CS38/39/41 This is how we prove competence.
  10. The requirements are set out in the ACOP, by the HSE
  11. The Certificate is good supporting evidence of competence.
  12. Probably when the tracking was set it was all done from one side. When you are driving in a straight line is the steering wheel central.
  13. Justin were you told this was all you needed to inspect arb equipment ?
  14. Could you speed line it from an adjacent tree
  15. The General requirements for a LOLER inspector are as follows. Have practical experience in the use of the equipment he or she is inspecting (at least five years commercially working with it), and be qualified to use it. Have theoretical knowledge of the equipment that they are inspecting. Be able to condemn equipment without fear nor favour and have evidence of this. The above are the main criteria. The NPTC certificate is not evidence on its own it acts as part of evidence. If the inspector only holds the NPTC certificate in Thorough Examination of Arboricultural Equipment he/ she is not qualified to do so.
  16. you are correct there is no upper limit on the cs32 unit at the moment. at least one tree must be over 22 inches for the assessment. boring through the sink is part of cs32, NPTC are revising cs33 in 2012. Hope this helps, I have plenty of trees suitable for cs32 if you are interested
  17. I glad you all enjoyed it. we will have to have a weekend there if you are all up for it in the summer. We mustn't forget to thank Mick for arranging it. Thanks Mick and those that helped clear the entrance. I only got one decent pic,
