When things don't cooperate, children, adults or animals. I find a dose of cold water helps. No physical contact but a good shock and wet inconvenience. Probably classed as assault. I'm not all for the territorial landowner with instant anger and loud profanities. Nor am I for the ignorant tramping over other people's property. Somewhere in the middle such as asking permission I reckon. I do fencing for people, often to keep dog walkers off private land. Yet they damage the gates or fence or punch through the hedge further along. My wife summed up an instance a couple of years ago. We was working on an estate which kindly let someone plant a memorial oak and scatter ashes. Relatives parked up and come through asking why we where installing fence and gate. We mentioned dog egg problem. They had pathetic fluffy toy dog with them. Went to memorial, came back so far with doggy bag. By they got to us said bag obviously vanished in the collection suspended decorating the spruces. My wife said " I'd like to go and hang it on the oak tree" Doesn't sound nice, but you have to make it about them to get the message home, people are so self centered. I've never understood the logic of many dog owners. Why have an animal you think you need to take out in all weathers if your premises aren't big enough or it doesn't get its exercise in the working day. I've found chopping wood at source is a big time saver. No real tidying up and reduces multiple handling. With the fiskars they don't handle misses very well. If chopping on concrete lay a plywood sheet down for protecting cutting edge.logs wobble or glance sideways from time to time. My Oregon sawhorse like most is kaput. Or cage a couple of beavers on it. Leave them for a week. Animal rights probably get upset about it though. There will be a domesticable insect or mammal that would oblige. Followed by fungus. Fart powered stump grinding . I am pleased to see the like minded attitude about litter on here. For years at the nursery when we dumped prunings etc back on the land. Why o why couldnt anyone grasp a plastic bottle or old gloves are an eyesore on a field? Though its now illegal i dont have an issue with banana skins apple cores roadside.
