  1. Still waiting for the seal to arrive so I can reassemble it:thumbdown:
  2. Try a wood chisel and wall paper scraper - that will do it:thumbup: These bank holidays are a blast ....aren't they?
  3. I have heard that you find ported saws strangely erotic:lol: If I can pull the thing over and get it started without breakinng body parts then we should be on for making some sawdust and cookies - still a long way to go though:001_rolleyes:
  4. Been up at Burrells today, got the pop up piston machined and the cylinder base turned down on the 066 - got the squish just right and will be porting it next - pictures to follow!
  5. Whats on my bench, not on the bench but been replacing drop links on the anti roll bar from the wifes Fiesta, followed by:001_rolleyes: the thermostat......sounds easy doesn't it:001_rolleyes: Remove wheel, remove lower pulley cover, remove drive belt, remove alternator with its hidden bolts, remove hoses and finally remove the thermostat cover with....three hidden bolts:lol: What a job! She still isn't happy - she wanted a new splashback behind the hob and new worksurface....she forgot the GP is on and I need the power off:001_rolleyes:
  6. Sounds like you have got bored Wes and found a liking for Guiness:lol:
  7. The base or the transfer bulge will bear the manufacturer name "Mahle" and on it and the very top of the cylinder by the plug hole, the flat will have "A" or "B" engraved on it !
  8. Lost you already - the quip was about the contest being like a duel, the "second" is the helping hand who carries the guns or chainsaws in this case and administers medication Bit of English history for you Wes:thumbup:
  9. Don't we need a misty morning, leather gloves and a second - I may be losing you with this one Wes:lol:
  10. Very interesting - have you got rid of your backlog of work:001_rolleyes: Me to:thumbup:
  11. If we need to run a 560XP against my 357XP - not a problem, I can only go on what I have achieved and what I have measured. I go by fact rather than lippy retorts:lol: Joshs 346XP sounds a bit good - nice figures:thumbup:
  12. He is right you know, AV rubbers:lol: possibly just a leaking cap, try turning the O ring round the other way:thumbup:
  13. Let us see how it goes once on:thumbup:
  14. One little problem - the 150 miles between us:lol: It would be interesting though!
  15. That was the second one Andy, my own personal one was the very first and was one of those - "I wonder what will happen if....." Moments
  16. Glad it turned out nice - it seemed pretty fast when I tried it and good to see the figures against the 550XP:thumbup: Yes, GT85 gave it a good blast of GT85 and then the compressor - cleans most of the crap off. Thanks for letting us all know - always good info:thumbup:
  17. Nice slightly chilled with ice and a slice eh Barrie:001_rolleyes: Every workshop should have a bottle in the fridge!
  18. From our "boys day out", my 357 was 0.4 secs slower than the 560 on 3 cuts with mine on a 17" and Mattys on a 15", since then I have opened up the exhaust a fair bit more and shortened the bar so should be pretty much the same if not a little quicker. My saw has a pop up as well as a muffler mod and the porting. The 560 has a lot of go and wins out on the fact it readjusts in the cut for bogging where the standard tune needs to be backed off a little to get back on the power band! I am doing an 066 now that should hopefully go like a bat out of hell....or bang:001_rolleyes: An interesting project that will probably break arms starting it!
  19. Sounds like fuel starvation to me - possibly split fuel line, blocked fuel filter or most likely, the brass check valve is partially blocked - stick it in a decent ultrasonic cleaner or blast carb cleaner down the H screw hole and it may well clear the issue!

    Ms200t

Keep the MS200, parts are still available and are readily available second-hand. The MS201 is stifled by the strato design and has a very restrictive inlet manifold design which limits its potential. The only Achilles heel on the MS200 is the carb and the later models are much better - keep it and just refurb it if necessary...done loads over the last two years and there is a reason for that:thumbup:
  21. There was only one type of MS200 exhaust that has a spark arrestor - I think it was a very old 020T one. Only seen one in my time doing these saws - probably unlikely to have one!
  22. That looks pretty nasty - it is possible that he only used it in very short stints and never got to the temperature to melt aluminium. My brother had a similar instance - purchased a Honda four stroke and wasn't told by the dealer to use any oil in the petrol but fortunately read the instruction manual - not the usual blokeish thing to do:001_rolleyes:
  23. We never did put the 560XP up against my 357XP in its latest build - would be interesting:thumbup:
  24. Not really, I do a set regime of checks on the carbs and it sorts 98% of them:thumbup:
