  1. I was just getting to like Jeremy Corbyn, shame about his stumble today on woman's hour today. Even more of a shame how the BBC can't help but repeat it over and over (twice on pm). Can't help thinking they are a bit one sided.
  2. Mark I entirely agree with you, but they are here and here to stay. We shouldn't fight extremism with extremism. Did we not learn any lessons from from the IRA.
  3. Sadly we are no longer the host country, they are British citizens too. That's why.
  4. Only if it's left up to people like you. 25 million muslims in Europe. You need to learn to live with them, they aren't going away.
  5. Wouldn't it just be great if people like you ran this country. All our problems would be solved.
  6. Is the death of 22 kids at Manchester any worse than the hundreds of kids killed by Israelis or the hundreds of innocent Syrian kids killed by Russian air strikes or American tomahawks. We reap what we sow. We certainly need to be aware of who we let into this country because I'm certain these are all revenge attacks
  7. You're right and I'm wrong. My current 1600 has a plastic tank.i had a U900 before! I still use suto and it works fine.
  8. I use normal engine oil. The tanks are a pain to fill, it takes ages. My tank has a glass port hole near the top.
  9. I agree with this. Creating safe havens would definitely help stopping them flooding over here.
  10. I'm not stupid and I'm not scared of muslims or Islam and I'm not alone. There are a few nutters amongst them for sure, but I think you will find the rest ok. Stop being do paranoid!
  11. Good idea this but I reckon he burnt £10 of logs to get £10 of charcoal. I cut the top off a 20kg gas bottle and then welded lugs so I could put the top back on. I fill this with wood and drop it into my biomass boiler and leave it until the morning. Perfect charcoal plus still getting the rhi payments. Win win
  12. I've got a spare pin if you need one. I've done my U bolts and yes they are v expensive. Apparently you can buy new rams (non merc) cheaper than the seals.
  13. There are 20 million muslims in Europe, 99.9% of whom live happily and peacefully along with everyone else. Matelot and le penn would drive a wedge through that peace. I know who I would lock up.
  14. I sprayed some with a mix of roundup and garlon and it knocked it for six but returned following year. I treated it for 4 years but it still came back. Finally another company sprayed it and it was gone in a year never to return. I'd love to know what they used! Someone said don't use too strong a mix as a weaker mix gets taken further into the roots. I tried injecting between the nodes with 10% mix of roundup but death stopped at the first node!
  15. I would speak to the neighbours and see how they feel about the tree. If their tree is threatening your foundations then they are responsible and will need to take action and deal with it.
  16. Wet and forget really works well. Available from amazon
  17. Cheap food is definitely wrong. Ideally we would do away with subsidies so that price like meat go up by 20-30%. Subsidies should be given to farmers who farm in an environmentally friendly way otherwise why shouldn't plough everything up. I'm not sold on the flooding issue though, Lake District hat 16" rain in 24 hrs last flood. No amount of tree planting can cope with that. Global warming I think.
  18. Read it, interesting but not conclusive. The price of land will never come down far enough for us to compete with NZ or Argentina. We don't need to change farming so much but change what people buy and when they eat it. If the government doesn't give grants that encourage farmers to farm in an environmentally friendly way they won't and we will all lose out.
  19. We can never compete with Argentinan or New Zealand meat because land prices are around a tenth of what it is here. 60% of farmers voted brexit, mainly the dairy and rich grain
  20. Try telling that to the poor chicken. Everyday is 3% of your life and you never see the light of day. Sorry but it's just not right.
  21. We should all be buying locally sourced environmentally friendly food. Sadly most people can't afford the luxury. Anyone who buys 2 chickens for a fiver should be strung up. As for the cap payments, they badly need reforming but it needs to done with care. I for one care far more about the environment and animal welfare than I do about the plight of farmers.
  22. All the payments are passed on to you in the way of cheap food. It's true that the system is wrong as even racehorse farms get payments, but the bottom line is that a lot of farmers need it just to survive and to be able to continue to produce high quality cheap food for your family. Remove these payments and many will go bust especially those in the poor upland areas (most of out national parks) and the land will become untenable. Also they will be unable to compete with European farmers who will continue to get the payments and this country would be flooded with cheap imports. The first things to suffer under a poor farmer are the environment and animal welfare so we need to be careful. It's not that simple.
  23. I would be repairing the hycrack, they are the best on the market. Speak to Curtis 01732763637 at Galbraith Bros
  24. Couldn't agree more. Some people need to take a leaf out of Martin Mcguinness's and move on.
