  1. I normally go down a local and very well known beach for mackerel then go out with a mate on his boat for wreck fishing. He has to use his big american dual wheel truck with a kingpin hitch to tow his boat around lol
  2. I overheard just before the boss went on holiday for 3 weeks he was gonna take us out for a meal in a small Italian restaurant in town to say thanks for all the hard work we have put in over the past year. We are thinking about a quick pint in our local ranger watering hole then head on down still in ranger gear to meet up with family and relevant spouses. Then maybe have a massive bbq the week after with everyone we have met through the year and got on with.
  3. Top two are Gatekeepers i think but definitely a ringlet in the bottom pic.
  4. Lol nope. It was on a colleagues drive who has a VW wedge camper van and a very custom (one of a kind cafe racer). Not had a landy on the drive for years.
  5. Just a quick head up guys and girls. In our council fleet of rangers 8 of our trucks have had Oil filter housing gasket failures (one of which resulting in a new engine just out of warranty). One of our trucks was leaking " a bit of oil" but turned out to be a large leak out of the housing at the back of the engine. Most of the oil was collecting in the sump skid/tray.
  6. Massive thunderstorm on the way from the west lol. If anyone down bridport way can give me an update on how fierce it is can ya let me know? Ta
  7. Was absolutely brilliant watching it down the local with a work colleague and about 80 other people. There were 4 aussies in the pub but they were very quiet when Joe Root got Khawaja and clarke out. Lets see if we can wrap the series up in 10 days time at Old Trafford.
  8. We phoned our main Stihl dealer the other day to order a box of 5.2mm, 4.8mm and 4mm files (all in seperate boxes of course) and a new polycut head with a pack of heads. They told us they couldnt do it over the phone so we had to do it face to face. Just as well the dealer is on the same estate as our yard or it would have been a major PITA. It has caused our "Procurement hub" in the council a massive headache as they could phone up and order a spool of 3mm nylon cord but now they have to drive to each Stihl dealer locally to get the best price thanks to the stupid policy brought in.
  9. Lol i aint pulling your leg. The wind was moving the trees but our house was sheltered by the winds by the houses above us. Yup there is a very fine shoot there. I shot there twice as a guest (once on a very high paying sold day with guns who were apparently top shots and my day was paid for by a mate who works on the estate) needless to say both days i couldnt stop killing the flipping birds
  10. You had wind lol you lucky git. We had nada. Not even enough to warrant a gnat fart lol. Was very very sticky sat inthe house watching the cricket. The dehumidifier couldn't keep up.
  11. Sweating like a nun at a cucumber farm this evening. May have to get the extra fan from the loft at this rate.
  12. I can see us winning this years Ashes 5-0 or at the very least 4-1.
  13. Cracking day today if your an englishman. Bad day if your an aussie. Currently a lead of 566 runs and talks of england going out for the morning session for root to get to his double ton. Cant see the aussies coming back from this annihilation.
  14. What a brilliant end to the working week. Cracking views down to the coast and a really nice steady pace. Got the entire site mown and raked in just under 4 hours. Then had a delightful walk around with an ex work colleague who came back to dorset for a month.
  15. Bourne Valley has been burning again this evening as has Ham Common. Dread to think how many more are going to be burning this summer. Another large fire underway on heathland at Bourne Bottom in Poole and Ham Common is up in smoke again (From Bournemouth Echo)
  16. Schools break up tomorrow. I have visions of another 1/3 of Upton Heath burning again. One of our big heath sites called Avon Heath has just ordered another load of fire beaters and two more bowsers for this year. We just have that horrible feeling tha tthe preverbial is going to hit the fan this year as everywhere is tinder dry.
  17. I was 6lb on the nose lol. Been a lanky piece of piss ever since. I say 30inch waist. I still have to wear a belt with my 30inch trousers:lol: Need to eat more pies.
  18. Imagine how tough it is to find chainsaw trousers for a 30 inch waist whippet like myself. Ni on impossible
  19. One thing which i dont like about this weather is i am getting eaten alive by ruddy horse flies. Was bitten atleast 8 times this morning litter picking. Will be a lot more when mowing 3 miles of trailway. Jungle cream at the ready.
  20. Got a new left brake cable for it today. Will be fitting it tomorrow afternoon and make sure the beast works as it should
  21. Nope. Not at all. I apologize if it came across that way. But it was very very tight at the end. Will be interesting to see what Aus bring to the table at Lords.
  22. Oh yes. It was nail biting stuff at the end:lol:
  23. We only just scraped by with the skin of our teeth. Thank god for DRS.
  24. lol. There is a good rip tide down there thats for sure.
