  1. Its usually the dampest part of the trackside as the water runs down the hill to that side but it never gets waterlogged due to railway french drains still working.
  2. Spotted this very sick looking Elder whilst out with the dogs. All the other trees are healthy except this one. It does it every year without fail but still keeps coming back. There is a septic tank/digester just over the fence from a property about 30 metres away but i am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas?
  3. Same here mate. Was dreading the hangover this morning but was clear as a whistle.
  4. Some Kretzschmaria duesta spores and Ganoderma spores on the same stump.
  5. Been out with the Konica today. Here are the the resulting shots.
  6. Only a lil one that let go yesterday in the winds.
  7. Had a cracking day at the arb fair meeting new faces and drinking lots of scrumpy. Was good to catch up with the guys from the xmas do again too.
  8. I'll be bringing both my cameras tomorrow to the arb fair. I've got an old school Konica Minolta Dimage Z2 its only 4mp but i can still get some cracking shots (see below) but also my usual lil compact as a back up as the Z2 eats batteries.
  9. Not a bad job for a friday. Replacing the roof of our 15 year old interp board as the shiplap boards had rotted out badly.
  10. Oh yes. It was droppd into the workshop first thing this morning. The first thing the bloke said was "what the hell did you hit?". That pulley and its arm shouldnt have bent like that according to him but he said he will get it replaced or repaired for us and joy of joys its still under the 2 year warranty.
  11. Sorry for slightly shaky pics but was taking pics with engine running. You guys ever seen a pulley arm bend like this before?
  12. Bent upward somehow to the point where the timing belt is nearly being pulled off the two blade pulleys. Will have a look at the deck for damage at that point but it looks like it has been given a damned good thwack up as the tensioner is mounted on 4mm steel. Here is a manual in pdf form. http://www.cubcadet.com/wcsstore/CubCadetCatalogAssetStore/Attachment/owners%20manuals/residential/2010_CC760ES.pdf Page 21 Figure 6.6 shows the belt configuration. The thicker line is the blade timing belt and the pulley which is bent upward is the one which is off centre in the picture with the single dot. The clear/thin belt is the blade idler/drive belt.
  13. They blades have luckily just skimmed each other on the back edges. The bearings were replaced about 3 months ago and the blades were also given a tickle and rebalance. The timing gears are in good nick as they run off each other with a toothed belt. Strangely its the tensioner in the middle which has been knocked/bent up out of alignment but is still keeping tension but is rubbing into the main blade belt engagement pulley arm and has worn a substantial groove into the metal work. I will get a pic of it and various damage caused by it. We just got it back from the workshop for a new blade drive belt too.
  14. I noticed today that the tensioner pulley on the cutting deck for the blade timing belt is bent upwards. On Monday a colleague was using it and hit a large (8 inch) wooden stub and caused the belt to jump off which made the blades connect several times before the machine was switched off. I will get a picture of it tomorrow to show what i mean but is there anyway we can bend/straighten it back to the position it was or will it be easier to buy one? Has anyone got a picture of this model with the timing belt shown?
  15. This is one of the songs which was played at his after funeral party. It was one of his favourite songs. If i had remembered my camera i would have got a video of everyone singing along to it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r3MZNCGzVY]Trey Songz - Heart Attack [Official Video] - YouTube[/ame] Still brings a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye listening to the songs which were played. But the wounds will take a long time to heal. The song his girlfriend and him used to listen to all the time. [ame] [/ame]
  16. It was the biggest funeral attendance the church has ever had which speaks volumes.
  17. Well yesterday and last night we gave my mate the send off he would have wanted. It was a mixture of tears and smiles but more smiles remembering the good times. Alot of the things that we're said about dan brought tears to the bar staffs eyes which just shows that even though they didn't know him it has touched everyones hearts. The church was jam packed with 400 people seated and about 200 standing. And for those wondering yes i did drink a few too many last night but it was in memory of dan.
  18. The bcs pilot is back. :thumbup:The first pic is of a bridleway which is on the annual maintenance run. It is given two cuts a year and this was its first cut.
  19. Ha ha this one was caused by the old man reversing out of the shared driveway. he literally clipped it with the wing but it must have been wedged against the house when he did it.
  20. Caused by a plastic wheelie bin:blushing: Not even anything manly like a gurt oak tree.
  21. That just brought a tear to my eye silky. Alot of my friends didn't know how much i knew him but we had pretty much grown up together. We would always help each other out in some way or another. Just cant beleive he has gone. Its going to be a very very tough day on Monday thats for sure.
  22. Will do. Because he was number 4 in the local footy team i am going put a number four in the back. Going to be a very personal project thats for sure.
