Greasing i do find quite easy and do it little and often. However the bar bolts seem to pinch so the hedge cutter is locked tight unless the bolts are finger tight as soon as i lightly tighten with spanner it jams. Runs & cuts fine finger tight. Iam just wondering weather thats the way it is or iam doing somthing wrong or theres somthing wrong with hedge cutter. I have had a Stihl gear box blow up wear a roller pin came lose to be fair it had done alot of work. A regular grease maybe sharpen and the stihl is maintenance free. The husqvarna seems higher maintenance but i realy like it cause its smoother cuts quicker and i seem to do better quality job with it. Engine unit is lighter and revs and revs and revs great!

I have had this hedge cutter attatchment a few months i run it on my Husqvarna 327 combi and I think its perfomance is amazing. However I found its hard to adjust the bolts on the hedge cutter bar. All though it has a grease nipple I find Its hard to know when to stop pumping so I take the cover off and aply round pinion by hand. I found the Stihl long reach attachment easyer to maintain but not as nice to use and no short pole option which I love so much on the Husqvarna. Does any one else have such troubles with Hedge Cutters?

I run a Honda HRX 476 Roller. Performance is very good and it only wieghs 45KG. Its fast poweful and picks up well in the wet almost filling the box if you keep the blade sharp. I would only buy from good local dealer as warranty will be used on drive issues. I like the Honda just wish they built the drive to from tougher stuff. I dont like the 536 as they weigh 60KG and gearbox wears very quickly and very expensive to replace it also clunky & rough to use.

I have concluded there is a vast differnce between fuels on the pumps. Shell/BP/Esso i think are quite good theres little difference between there premium fuels on garden machinery. However supermarket or cheaper fuels are very poor and for 5p a litre less is not worth the trouble. Why is ethonal so bad? How does it harm your engine?

I always run my van on premium shes done 186000 I feel much more response low down in the revs and it starts better I would not say there's any difference in power high up the revs. The MPG gauge tells me 31 mpg on cheap supermarket fuel and as much as 38 mpg on a good run on premium. Its a computer what reads mpg so I cant be sure on its accrual. I should at some point brim tank and measure miles.

Have any of you run your machines on so called super unleaded? I have and noticed a slight increase in performance, starting, smother rev delivery. Also I have heard its cleaner and better for your engine and also you don't consume as much fuel as is more efficient. I belive all the above to be true but the increases are slight!

Very Nice mate every things at an arms length too which makes life easier. I carry 3 mowers wheel barrow 2 ladders & builders bags of grass/hedge cuttings. Do you use a trailer too? That 3 tier shelf is great too.

Thats very impresive for a swb. Used to have a swb transit my new van is much bigger but i still struggle for space i have 3 mowers on somtimes. I have had 15 builders ton bags of hedge/tree cuttings on before which is quite impresive. I think i should maybe think about shelfing as the floor is just full of clutter. I do tie a 10ft lader in side the van as i dont like roof racks on high tops.

Thats good to hear guys I am running a honda 476 hrx this season and its been back to the dealers like 10 times all drive problems other than that its a great mower performance/reliability/lawn finish. I would be looking at other brands and need a mower for longer grass & rougher lawns. I like the look of the honda 537 hydro but I do question there reliability and cost of parts is not funny so once outa warranty it will be a right off.

I have a Peugeot Boxer 2.2 HDI LWB what i use for garden maintanence. I have recently plylined it and built a second floor thats 250mm high 1500m long & 800mm wide. I place all my diging tools underneath & clearing saw & combi tools strimmer/hedge cutter/ polesaw on top. I still have my tool boxes, drill boxes strimmer line fuel cans & various other crap kicking about on floor. I also need room foor ladders/wheelbarrow/mower and builders tone bags. I used to use wheelie bins but found them a pain for storage. Does any one have a better system or some tips for tidying equipment & tools in vans/pick ups? Be good too here your tricks guys!

I looked on website the modern 136 uses 3/8 the sprocket says .325. I am tempted to buy a 15 inch .325 58 it will be steady but i will only use it for garden clearing ect. I think 15 inch is beter for mincing up brush as i dont have a chipper. Many thanks for the replys guys.

I think the worst thing you can do to any machine is leave it sitting. If i dont use it i seĺl it or just run it up once a month and work it if i can. All the tools i have left sitting around just get coverd in dust and are never the same as before storage. Tools i use daily are ready for action all the time and if they fail there is a quick fix to get them back in action!

Found an old Husqvarna 136 in shed no bar & chain but runs well. I want to buy bar and chain off Internet as local Husqvarna dealers are poor. I am guessing I want 3/8 .50 semi chisel 14 inch. I have no idea how many links should be in the loop either can you boys help and what websites are good to buy from?

I would be tempted to find a good working carburettor and swap it this way you can eliminate any carb trouble it's possible that you might have a hair line crack in carb body sucking in air or something. I have had similar trouble before and you can't beat sawing parts you know work for proses of elimination. Works every time for me.

I would consider using a Honda UM616 a Hydro static mulching rough cut mower. It has large bicycle wheels to ride over bumps Rabit holes etc. It cuts long grass and brush with ease leaving very little mess. Its 3 wheel low deck design would allow you to bump most things like masonry or metal rubbish before hitting it with blade. The blades are design to bend before it destroys crank shaft too if you hit one by accident. I guess going well you could do 3 acres a day so 4 Days. I would Charge £25 an hour for this and I guess around £50 for tractor & flail at 2 days. This is all a guess but iam pretty sure a walk behind mower works out about the same as a tractor for price/work load but tractor would be in and out much quicker! A brush cutter/strimmer is always needed for areas you just cant reach so dont leave it a home lol.

The Webb looks very similar to Atco. I have used the Atco liner 19 inch roller mower. I liked it. Not man enough for large lawns but great on smaller lawns. Briggs & Stratton side valve lovely engine and does not use much fuel like the myth says. The grass box was awful but every thing else was pretty good the cut was good very competitively priced too.

I Run a Honda 476 hrx roller plus sides are light, fast, large simple clever grass bag, light very easy to turn, belt drive so smooth lots of control feather the speed if needed, powerful on thick grass large chute and great on large and small lawns. Minuses Height adjustment terible very cheap thin lever and low range from like 15mm to 60mm. Some parts are very poorly made its been back to dealership under warranty 3 times for drive pins and clips breaking the dealers have been very good but on the most expensive 19 inch roller mower in the world I dont expect this sort of build quality or to be abandoning mowing jobs cause brand new mower with 20 hours on it does not drive. I also feel for such a cheaply made machine Honda charge way way to much for parts which will be a huge problem when out of warranty labour is no trouble as its very easy to work on its the cost of parts what will kill it in the end. Over all I like it its a pleasure to use I think 19 inch all the way I have set the revs to around 3500 rpm it realy cuts quick and well like this. The factory set 2800 is like mowing on tick over. I think higher revs and better cut make it superior to 21 inch. I have used pre 2005 Hayter 56 which I love to bits ( new one differnt mower awful ) but the deck breaks and cant be repaird easy. The 476 is simalar in cut quality and manouverbility. I have also used a Honda 536 roller which I think is just awful. The main reasons its so terrible are because its 60 kg the handle bars are miles long and roller is tiny therefore it has the manoverbility of an oil tanker. The gearbox lasts only a few tanks of fuel and is horrible to use it goes clunk bang its either off or on so rough click click click bang then drives then up a mild slope will disengauge allowing the handle bars to jab you in the guts. Also unlike my 476 which rams grass in the bag to the brim it would only 3/4 fill a bag I never got on with these Honda's I know some people love them each to there own.

I use 2.4 line in bump feed on a husqvarna 327 and when vegatation gets too thick or dense I then grab my fs460 with oregon jet head. For grass and material what dont snap the line I use 2 flexible 4mm and 4 when brambles saplings and the like snap 2 lines. I Find two is much faster and 4 breaks less & mulches more. Works for me I rarely use metal blades dont like them as not very forgiving.

I have gone to the darkside I bought a husqvarna 327 ld. it starts on half a pull its very light allmost no vibs picks up very fast on revs and revs so well at high revs. I think its fantasic tool and makes stihl look like amatures. Maybe the strimmer head is tougher on a stihl but everything else is much better on the husqvarna. I am husqvarna all the way now!

There is a few things iam not sure about with batteries you said its equivalent to a 25cc to 30cc petrol and 2.0mm line its happiest with. Well my 25cc runs 3mm line pretty good. How many hours will a battery do before the cells are burnt out and you need a new one? Where to charge if your on a job far away from 240 volts how do you charge your flats? 5 litre fuel can goes anwhere I do. I have never used a lithium ion strimmer or hedge cutter but thesse are the things what put me off.

Makita do a 4 stroke strimmer too. I think 4 strokes are good bolted to somthing like a mower where it sits at low revs all day and dont go upside down or have a trigger to pick up revs. I have had Stihl 4 mix and Honda 4 stroke I think there hateful little engines. 1 Vibrate alot 2 Heavy 3 Hard To start 4 More Maintenace 5 Low accelaration and dont hold revs 6 Make stupid noise. I am probaly a bit biast but you cant beat a good 2 stroke

A hedge cutter or brush cutter going all day will burn through batteries in no time specialy on a fast charge and at over a £100 a go you cant beat a tub of 2 stroke unleaded for a days work at around £8!

iam running a Honda 476 hrx qx. its light fast turns on a penny fills the big grass box to the brim powerful in long grass strips well leavs nice finish. Unlike the other honda mowers I have had its belt drive makes it very smooth and controlable. I love it at the minute I have only used it for about 10 hours so time will tell if its realy up to it!
