  1. Would an abundance of kestrel and owl boxes help in the long run, and be legal?
  2. So a mycotoxin is a toxic substance produced by a fungi? And a fungicide obviously is a substance toxic to fungi, so some fungi eg O. mucida, produce 'fungicidal mycotoxins'?
  3. Perhaps I'm missing the point here, why do you want rid of them? Is it a lawn, do you want the hazel nuts for yourself, or do you just not like the beasties?
  4. 2x as long as the middle to one end
  5. Confirmed as April, not may
  6. Makes more sense, there was me thinking they stripped the trees and didn't eat them!
  7. Do any arbtalkers use cloud1? Somebody must do, surely!? Over 50 downloads of the app, someone here must use it........ ....anybody? Or do I hear tumble-weed approaching
  8. I was planning on this one http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=41990 Fairly cheap, especially for arbtalkers...
  9. Yeah more for surveys etc, and 'asset management', whatever that encompasses. They seem to have had jfl onboard setting up a THREATS section as well. One person singing its praises got me interested, arbmark or arbmatic or similar. He was very helpful but not seen any posts for a while by him. Could he be j Roberts lol I've got the full version but can't figure it all out, least of all the survey app! Hoping to use it for 5837's and mapping inspection zones for safety surveys, once I work out how to use it... hence wondering about the training day? Does anyone here actually use it?!
  10. Bump 50 views no comments, anyone?
  11. :thumbup:I will make good use of it! Top man
  12. What odd behaviour, I wonder why the do it? Perhaps they'll get a taste for and wipe out Cameraria then get fall fowl to buzzards? Wishful thinking I'm sure!
  13. Any idea how the new 5837 is coming along, release date etc? You can buy the draft on bsi for a tenner?!

    Ganoderma

Gano at height here http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=649132 It could be something else though
  15. I'm thinking of doing the next one. Did anyone here do the training day in march, if so how did you find it?
  16. I'll look forward to it, thank you and no I won't lose it, promise!
  17. I'd be very interested in Butin when it's available. Quite an investment for the bookclub but when are you gonna spend your cash on scopes?! Think of yourself for once!
  18. I know one and know of another, that's two more...
  19. Quality 25% reduction on oak, left at 40 foot tall  Sadly not in a CA or subject to tpo, so it is 'ok'. Not done by me btw!
  20. Not much help, but there was someone based in ( or near) earls colne, colchester, who made and sold them a few years ago. Google it?
  21. Congrats! Hope all went well and you baby and mum are ok

    MPG in van

30% is a big difference, did you do lots of heavy loads and town driving:empty motorway miles? Maybe the 30% is price difference? Enter a wrong number? Or maybe the app is crap....
  23. Could you not buy 4 foot high instant hedge? Let them establish a year or two before reducing any significant amount, 1/3 is the maximum recommended for an established healthy tree. As gollum says water the trench before planting, and be careful not too over water it. I've seen more new hedges die from over watering than under.
  24. Minimum fee unexpectedly cheap apparently! Note to self, up prices :sly:

As I understand it, the AA registered consultant and chartered environmentalist are two separate things entirely. The CEnv being a status the AA is licensed to give members who meet certain criteria. See here: http://www.trees.org.uk/membership/Chartered-environmentalist
