  1. This dead little fella nearly got through my safety net. The access road that this Ash sat on, did not originally get on to my Tree Risk Radar. I came across it whilst driving around checking after a big blow. Needless to say my Risk Zones have been reviewed and ammended.
  2. This old fella was knocked over by the wind in Jan 07, one month after i had inspected it. No potential stability issues noted at the time. Boy that breeze was strong The Property owner suddenly got very concerned with the rest of his trees.
  3. Good luck to you Arbgarry, soak it all up like a sponge, and squeeze out the occasional bad habit. Short memory and Short cuts aflict us all at times.
  4. Difficult to make a judgement from just a few shots, but who on here would consider a climb dismantle on this one ? Joe Public should all be sent on common sense courses. Why would even the most fool hardy not see that as a seriously potential Hazard. Interesting Post Steve.
  5. Forget Prime Minister, imagine a union between Dagmar and Prince Harry !!!!!! We could be talking Masters of the Universe...........
  6. Nice piece of work there Ed. Is your own still running ? BTW we run Wessex and Vermeers as well, but it's Bandit all the way for me.
  7. Hats off to you boys. That is top Tree Managment. Huck, i dare you to say there's no place for MEWPS in Tree Town. Right choice and use of equipment for that piece of Art Work. Inspirational stuff Sherbrooke :congrats:
  8. My understanding is that it is a parasite, but generally harmless to its Host. We tried grafting some on to Limes at our site, from a load we obtained from an avenue of Veterans that were felled at Hampton Court a few years back, unsucsessfully it has to be said. http://www.mistletoe.org.uk/
  9. I got to get me one of these babies ! What do ya reckon? http://www.unic-cranes.co.uk/crane.php?crane=706
  10. Sounds like a competion in the making !
  11. Out of interest Huck, what saw/s did you use for the Coros? And was it priced into the job? In terms of time, fuel and hassle. This sounds a tad anal, but ive been looking at and photod natural branch breakages and they appear to include an element of Fracturing, so we're going to try and add Fractures to the branch/trunk ends before we start coronetting, think this helps make it look more realistic.
  12. Is that your apprentice in the cab with you in the third Pic?
  13. Very good Coros Huck, Only your third attempt, then im impressed. It's obviously not rocket science but they can go V wrong. That would blend in nicely at my site.
  14. Next week we've got Treevolution coming down for four days, to train the team in CS41. This will be a refresher for two of us and training towards assessment for the junior members of the team.
  15. Makes me want to go back and re inspect all my road side stock
  16. First picture is Salix alba. Very easy to coronet. Glad you are making use of the pictures, thats what this forum is all about. Feel free to keep showing them. Good luck with your mono, post some pictures if you get a chance. Please make sure you write down somewhere accessable, that someone will need to monitor the on going condition.
  17. Those Hermans are so damned efficient ! But they don't like it up um !! Fruedian slip here i think/hope...... blah blah blah !
  18. I quess in that situation the saw is self tethered via the hydraulic hose. If you were to use a pole chainsaw in a mewp, then it really should to be tethered to the cage. Hazzard obviously being the drop. Are there any other implications to consider, SWLs etc...? It is far too easy and inviting to overreach whilst in the cage when your work position is a tad short. This is when the pole would be best used in an aerial situation.
