  1. Hallelujah. Quick, where's my sunglasses, this light is blinding me ! LoL
  2. Not disagreeing with you Pete, but i do think it is about visual ammenity as well as habitat. Managing a Tree in a natural/semi natural environment, should, as well as taking Tree health and public safety in to consideration, be partialy about the trees aesthetics in terms of looking as far from being man managed (Target Pruned) as is practicably possible. Plus there is from my experience, the added benefits of stronger regrowth from attachment to (naturaly) fractured cambium as opposed to wounds that are created by saws resulting in flushed and/or flat cuts.
  3. Won't do in my working lifetime. JC was in the minority, I believe he has left us with a pretty good long lasting legacy
  4. Then avert ones eyes my good fellow......and take a gander at oiled up body building freaks or what ever else is of your persuasion that rocks your boat
  5. Cool.... that'll freak the squirrels.
  6. Yeah thats a good idea Pete. Have ripped a few branches off with the Igland in the past to get the desired effect, but when they're green trunks next to targets, I'm just a bit concerened as to whether the roots have taken part of the loading when winched. Thanks for your input though
  7. Did you get my pm about the Spider Jack ?
  8. Appologies for the bump on this old thread, for those who are not interested. Wanted to show our Fractured Coronets. This is on a multi stemmed Capadocium Maple with basal decay next to a road. Road side trunks being reduced and left as a monolith. The others are to be left to fail naturally as they lean towards dense woodland. Last picture not quite finished article as batteries died, will post when job is done.
  9. :icon14: Client ask for it, or are you just getting addicted?
  10. Do I spy with my little eye something begining with C, in that last shot. Nice work BTW.
  11. Not a lot to be honest Chris, been doing bits and pieces since having TreeWorks Environmental Practice in for training about 5/6 years ago. I think this may change over the coming year though. Going to post additional pictures of the Fulham Oak to show regrowth along the fractures later this year. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=957 Gotta say that i Masochistically enjoy it BTW thanks for the info Steve, will use to help justify my time on this type of work to the purse holders.
  12. Those ladders are airbrushed in, right? How long do you envisage the entire reduc will take Steve? Interested, as I'm keen to compare your 15 - 20% man hours to the Fracture Prune we carried out to the Fulham Oak which looks to be of similar size, and took us approx 4 days.
  13. Quote from AFAG 401 Tree climbing operations pertaining to PPE; Non-snag outer clothing. The use of high-visibility clothing may also be appropriate. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/afag401.pdf You should find this clarifies your issue.
  14. This will not be of great use to you Steve, but all the Blackberry users I've ever come across seriously begrudge their adictiveness. I took this on board and chose to stick with an Ipaq pda for my data transfer and storage needs. This just about does a job for me and frees me up from all the endless and sometimes pointless over-communicating, and then there's the real con of having nowhere to hide in cyberspace We can all be a bit over Techi sometimes Imo.
  15. I'm kicking back, Kids tucked up, Wife's on the phone to the Mother in law, Golfs on the telly, Fingers are playing Rachmaninov on the computer and I'm on me third bottle.......Kerchink
  16. I am, trouble is it's not with soap, I'm on the Hobgoblin! 5.2 !!!!!!!
  17. Dare I say: did you consider the Dirty M word that must not be spoken of, Matt?
  18. Good Ole Quercus robur. It really is what makes Britain Great
  19. Gotta agree with ya there Huck Owls, Palastinians, Cayote..... whatever
  20. A Big Happy Birthday to ya Lee. Hows the BIG 40 feeling Fela?
