  2. Hi Colietti, You are probably correct, but why not submit an application and be sure? Details from here: http://planningguidance.planningportal.gov.uk/blog/guidance/tree-preservation-orders/ When should the area category be used? The area category is one way of protecting individual trees dispersed over an area. Authorities may either protect all trees within an area defined on the Order’s map or only those species which it is expedient to protect in the interests of amenity. The area category is intended for short-term protection in an emergency and may not be capable of providing appropriate long-term protection. The Order will protect only those trees standing at the time it was made, so it may over time become difficult to be certain which trees are protected. Authorities are advised to only use this category as a temporary measure until they can fully assess and reclassify the trees in the area. In addition, authorities are encouraged to resurvey existing Orders which include the area category. Paragraph: 029 Reference ID: 36-029-20140306 Revision date: 06 03 2014
  3. Amey, but not Sheffield 22 to 30k depending on the candidate experience etc.
  4. Great opportunity for someone taking the next step into tree management. Varied role managing the highway trees for Birmingham City Council. http://www.amey.co.uk/talent-link/external/job/3803
  5. Pulled the odd sofa and a TV out of trees next to tower blocks. Nappies too
  6. How about putting him through some safety training? IOSH managing safely or CITB Site Supervisor SSSTS. Get them on a level2/4 arb course? All good confidence boosting and knowledge. Nick
  7. We have started to include this in normal site inspections. A normal audit will be being undertaken when a supervisor will casually inform the ground crew that the climber has been injured and needs rescue. While their still processing that he'll pull out a stopwatch and tell the climber to play dead or injured. All very positive so far with some really great teamwork and rescues.
  8. The Bacton Beach House - Stunning Holiday Let in Norfolk Right on the Beach quiet etc
  9. Light sand, few coats of oil, job done. Ikea's own oil is quite good, I have the same worktops and have brought them back from being like this a couple of times
  10. Something similar if not the same https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=678876322171060
  11. A suitable poison on the suckering and into stem of tree a couple of weeks before felling will probably help. we have started ecoplugging Polar, Willow and Robinia for this reason
  12. Try BASC, they are heavily involved ans should give you all the info you need
  13. Thou shalt not Lop or Top
  14. Hi Ben, We are using a rubber-aggregate bound surface in these locations. Its highly pourous and does not split or crack. After looking for a solution for highway trees we think this a great option. Their website is at KBI UK | Smarter Materials for Next Generation Infrastructure give them a call and they will advise, say that Nick from Amey in Birmingham pointed yoiu in their direction. A bit of root pruning may not be a bad thing either Nick
