  1. Drop me a line, we're local (ish) & always happy to meet & help new people. Plus, we need a tame a builder, so perhaps we can help each other? Very best wishes, Natalie.
  2. Hope none of your customers are on here, to hear you calling them fools, they pay your mortgage
  3. Makes crap firewood, wouldn't ever sell it, but makes great charcoal!
  4. Try the LogBaron RM Yeomans Forestry Contractor and Firewood Merchant | Forestry Work
  5. Leave her is my advice, it'll be less stressful!
  6. "Stones in my passway" - The White Stripes. Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaah.
  7. Yes Ralph, I've replied this morning, Many thanks.
  8. Yes Squardey, there are rules. If the vehicle is registered as a "limited use" forestry vehicle, as such it requires not mot, is entitled to free road tax, providing it is insured. You can drive 1.5km on public highways between your sites & do that on red diesel. Registering a vehicle as limited use is straight forward enough. Fill in the paperwork, send it along with a copy of your business details, showing the woods you work & basically showing them that you're a legit trading outfit with genuine reason for changing taxation class of your vehicle, & you shouldn't have any bother. Take the mickey, or bend the rules, get caught & you'll be either in a very grey area, so make sure you're a bright spark with an ability to talk you way out of anything, or, expect a big fine & possibly loosing your vehicle. Hope that helps.
  9. Can I just add, thanks for all the interest in my Disco, it will advertised soon. Anyone interested please PM me not post here as I seem to have hijacked Squardeys thread by mentioning it, sorry mate, hope you find what you're after
  10. Our insurance is next to nothing, regular car insurance yes. Runs on cherry yeah, being the 300 it will damn near run on anything! But yes, it can legally run on cherry. PM me if you want more info, as I say, It'll be available in a couple of weeks. Very best wishes,
  11. I know it's not quiet the same but. We're selling our Disco in the next few weeks, It's DVLA registered as a forestry vehicle, so no mot needed, free tax & runs on cheery. 3"lift, goes anywhere, the pics flatter it, it's battered & bruised, but it runs well. If that's of any interest to you, drop me a line.
  12. I get very defensive about my little trailer Steve, (I knew you poking fun, sorry thought I'd put a smiley face to show I was poking fun back, I don't take myself that seriously) & will be forced to come & batter you should you poke fun at it again! Now you don't want to go getting knocked out buy a bird do ya! It works grand for the tighter woods, & birch thinnings etc. The crane I fitted is demountable, to keep the nose weight down when moving around. I don' think I could cope using it with the ram to lift stuff up, the time delay would kill me! My plan is to keep the arm up, at full extension & run a winch cable through the arm, so the winch will do the lifting (much quicker), but the crane will give the height & rotational swing.
  13. Are you really that arrogant? I found a pic with it loaded up for you Stevie boy, but I can't seem to add it Hmmm.
  14. :001_tt2:Well aren't we the demanding type! Mud too eh, like I don't filthy enough
  15. I'll try & do some in the week & will add when I can
  16. Sure, I'm just about to add a winch to the crane, but you'll get the idea.
  17. Cheap Chinese Rubbish with Zippo welds, Honda Style engines & no CE mark. We looked at them, but decided against it very quickly. Try Logic trailers, UK built, excellent company to deal with & you can (as we did) easily attach a small rotational crane to help with those bigger stuff. Ideal on the back of a quad. Failing that, try CALEDONIAN FORESTRY LTD - Products or even better, contact Chris at Riko (he's on here to somewhere), see if they have anything, really nice guy & great company.
  18. The edit your old post function really is wonderful thing............
  19. Happy too Baz, Happy too
  20. This should be brilliant fun, let's see how many people actually have any idea what this weighs! A prize for the winner, & a prize for the most far off (I think we have a winner)
  21. Hy Silky, many thanks for taking the time to check us out:) We're loving what we're doing, & doing it here just adds the cheery to the top!

    Very best wishes,

    Lindisfarne Charcoal.

  22. Nothing to do with money, nothing to do with who you employ to do it for you. Only to do with how direct your web presence is, which is ultimatley about how easy it is to find your site. This may help: How Google Works - Google Guide
  23. We get 90% of all our firewood orders online, it's a massive help to us.
  24. We spend nothing on our advertising, never paid for a search engine listing & built our own very simple site. That's not meant to be a hey look at me aren't I clever comment. But more, it is possible! If you have a product or service that people want, think about how you would look for it & ask 50 friends, that will give you an idea on what the most common words are, then you have your key words. There's a bit more to it of course, but certainly don't let anyone tell you have to pay. If you want to save money, have control over what you're doing & learn something new as well, learn to do it yourself. Most 10 year olds these days can do this stuff standing on their heads, (frustratingly) find one & get them to help you. The days of having to use web designers are long gone, not all of us need the biggest flashiest site in the world. Getting your site in the top & keeping it there will depend on how many people search for it & look at it, keep your content up to date & your keywords specific.
