  1. i have the say the same about the stihls they dont oil no where near as much as they need to the do seem like you have to tickle the throttle to warm them up
  2. hope for a speedy recovery for andy and the best of luck that the drugs do the trick and he be back home with his family and to the job that i no dout he loves
  3. your oil feed hole on your bar get a drill bit and make is slightly bigger so more oil go's in the oir runner on the bar as some saws pumps the oil and only half go's into the oil feed hole a old guy that i know who sold fier would told me that trick
  4. all i can say all the stihls i used dont seem to give enough ad a brand new ms180cbe when i was 16 that was 7 years ago and that would only use a tiny bit of oil you can tell it use to eat 3 tanks of petrol to 1 oil and there be still oil in the tank had a new oil pump under warrenty was still the same and then after that had a second hand one fitted still the same bought a new ms170 to sit by the chipper this year and geuss what still the same thing only uses less than half a tank of oil to petrol thats why i wont buy any more stihls i have a small echo cs420 its only 40cc on a 15inch bar i have cut through timber easy 26inch across it all day long dont rev down at all you can turn the oil flow up or down turn it up to make and it will use 1 tank to 1tank of petrol thats why90% of my saws are echo
  5. there places all over that will make you a rad to any size you want theres a place in boston lincolnshire that makes them
  6. i cant see the point in taking/ paying for a corse that dosent give any qualification there is just no point ok it will teach you the basic's thats is but this dosent mean the you will be any safer just look back to how many accidents happen to professional highly qualified chainsaw users every year sorry joniese if this seems hard to you or maby affect you some how but this is just my view on this idea
  7. best was of tips i got 1st one aged 16 whiles working for the old man to get money to book my quails for a customer as £100 pound the customer had us back on 5 separate time and each time i got the same tip the old guy and his wife like the way i was buy catching to them and my effort and willingnese to work hard we was atking down some huge hawthornes down they was 14 inch wide stumps so you can tell the guy was scotch and people say the scotch is tight sorry but i hope i done offend people by that the guy had a dream to buy a bar in spain and told me to vist but unafutnatly he passed away about 18 months later befor buying his dream bar
  8. all that video shows that sthil costing new around 550 pounds and thats putting it cheep is better built than a chines saw putting it expensive say 120 pounds and i would hope that a saw that cost around 4x as much would hold up to more testing abuse if not i would be highly dissapointed it dont meant the chinese saw is not safe to use its just may brake quicker and my not be as good in our line of heavy work like us lot mostly do day in day out i would have tought that if they where not safe to use that they would most likely be a total ban across the uk for selling them
  9. i would say echo but thats my personal choice but there start from around the 250 mark here in the uk a bit more expensive than the husky and stihl but they have a longer warrenty of 5 years just as long as you take it in for a service once in the 1st year but there are loads of saw to have a look at if your looking at something quite cheap and even beeing sold by f.r jones that adverties on the left so carnt be that bad if they stock them as there a good firm that im sure will not be selling junk to rubbish there such good name they have Hitachi CS33EB (35cm) 14" Chainsaw 32.3cc | eBay
