  1. It’s definitely an odd one, Is the river Wyre tidal at inskip?
  2. Good for me? When I worked the roads I was paid monthly, just like the rest of the lads. I presume you were contacting in? Which this post is about.
  3. No it wasn’t across board, I worked a road gang in the ‘90’s and got paid monthly.
  4. I guess I shouldn’t moan, but I’m looking to buy a boat without financing atm and I need every penny to get on. I’m fecked off with people not paying on time.
  5. I’ve started to do more of my own work again, less contracting. In December I did three big, for me jobs, drawing the money has been painful. I’ve got it in now but I wonder if it’s worth it. Perhaps contracting and getting paid every week/month is easier?
  6. Financially and morally bankrupt, how he gets on is unbelievable. I guess it’s who you know, not what you know.
  7. From todays news, he’s also got the free reign of a £20 million house down the smoke, courtesy of Lord Bamford, Mr JCB. Remember Mr Archer? Nothings changed. Levelling up, my arse.
  8. It certainly has gone mad, I bought some joists last week, it made me feel bilious just thinking about it.
  9. Where wrong!? Ffs get your spoiling right.
  10. UK tax return, let’s see what you pay in. I’d dare say most jobbing tradesmen pay in more.
  11. Gaslighting trig, you may get it by others.
  12. Why? Just post up your return, as you said you would, and I’ll post up mine to see how much UK tax we pay, after all I could screenshot yours a put it up here.
  13. Yep, my meagre amount will be paid this month. I’ll happily post it up here.
  14. Trig said he was waiting on it, not my words, his. I’d dare bet I pay more tax into this economy than he does.
  15. By the way trig, have you got that UK tax return yet, the one that shows what you pay into this economy?
  16. Who’s claiming my meagre contributions then if it isn’t half the households in the UK? I meant I don’t have children now that I claim for, and never did claim benefits for him in the UK. He was born and raised in Spain.
  17. Perhaps you’ve missed the point, the subject is, more households are taking more money out of the system than they are paying in.
  18. Nonsense, there are vast swathes of people earning £40k plus and still claiming my hard earned. I don’t have children and have never signed on, and payed my dues on time. Why should I top up someone’s wage because they aren’t paid enough.
  19. The point is, on £40k into a family home you can still get benefits, does that not say the pay is not enough. Surely if you earn enough you wouldn’t be entitled to tax payers money.
  20. I can only speak of the people I talk to, hydraulic engineer on £40k/year. Ok, they get the perks of being employed, but it’s no great shakes when working shifts. They could move on but where to? We all aren’t nomads.
  21. Tell us tax payers how it’s going to work then, if people aren’t paid enough they will get benefits which we will pay. As Dave said, it’s not sustainable.
  22. I don’t know the answer, but I see it around here, skilled people working for little money building JCB’s whilst the boss gets flown over my yard twice a day in his helicopter. No one wants to spread the wealth!
  23. What you on there, wild camping in caves?
  24. Leave ‘em to it, I’ll walk the shop for milk before I try to get that van out.
