  1. Am I right in thinking on the 2.4 Durotourqe the rocker cover doesn’t need to come off? Remove high pressure lines then undo them then pull them out? 2 & 4 are the ones that are leaking, if they are a barsteward to get out would you leave 1 & 3 or persevere?
  2. I think that stands for alot of people from this forum that I’ve met in person, even the ones I’ve had some rare words to say to on here, can’t think of one that I didn’t get on with when we’ve actually met.
  3. Just been into Tesco petrol station to blow the tyres up on the van, a quid, a full one pound coin, I can remember when it used to be 20p. I guess that’s inflation for you…
  4. There is a proper tidy MK6 Transit up the road, low mileage and never needed any welding, which quite frankly is unbelievable. Anyway, if I take it today I’ve got it for a steal. The only thing wrong with it is two of the injector seals are leaking, is this as straightforward as it looks to replace them, if so I’ll do all four, or is it a pig of a job? I’ve had a few MK6’s but never had to do this job on one. Any tips? I’ll probably take it anyway, if only for breaking, now that I’ve got a bit of yard space again.
  5. Yes, my ex got hit head on in my Jeep many years back, after some arguing they paid me out more because the loss adjuster couldn’t find a comparison, there were very few manual gearbox Jeep Grand Cherokee’s made. So yes, I was paid more than it was worth, my argument was, if they/I could find a replacement it would need to be imported.
  6. Yes Mick was mountain man, he did have another dodgy account as well, can’t remember the username he was using for that one, but I for one clocked it and mentioned it here. Unfortunately lots of us have a style of writing that will give us away in the end.
  7. Like a lot of us Mick has a certain way of posting, I’d bet my flat it isn’t him.
  8. Another band I’d forgotten about at that 1984 gig until I spotted this on marketplace earlier, signed play set/list from The Anti Nowhere League, another cracking punk band. I collected in Stoke, turns out he got it at the same gig, not only did he know my brother back in the day he couldn’t believe someone my age was there.
  9. Yeah, it just doesn’t happen often enough… The bloke who owns the skip company has been ripping the p155 out of them, he’s been leaving a free skip and giving them £150 when he collects it, I can do better than that, I’ll leave them an empty skip and give them more than that and still make decent money off it. That old saying springs to mind, don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
  10. I don’t know, these motors are off pumps, I’ve stripped the volutes and impellers off them and cut the cable away into different piles, I’ve had four tipper loads out already, with it on its knees, probably another three-four loads to go.
  11. Scrap prices are always all over the place, I’ve only weighed in once since I’ve been up here, motors did £490/tonne, that was a few months back. The last couple of days they’ve been anywhere between £380 and £390, I’ll hang in there unless the coffers run short.
  12. Who phoned and left a message last week.
  13. Yes of course, anyway, the price isn’t good so they are back up the yard. I got them loaded with a fork truck and there’s a loader where I’m staying to load them back on, I’m in no rush for the money so I’ll sit on them until prices rise. To be fair quite a few of the motors were out of TPS’, two of us would never have hand balled them.
  14. That doesn’t sound to bad, all the yards want is the copper windings out of motors.
  15. I prices aren’t right I might leave it because it’s all handball from skip to truck unless I can find a forklift driver on the industrial estate that wants a decent drink.
  16. What are scrap prices doing in the last few days? I’ve just been given an 8 yard skip full of electric motors, I’ll have a ring around in the morning, just wondering what prices are like atm.
  17. Agreed, 30p Lee now telling people to F off back to France if they don’t like being housed on a barge, this is the deputy chair of the Conservative party, is it really how people at the top of power should behave? This is street talk, not what our politicians should be saying. Sunak put him there to appeal to the working class, he certainly doesn’t speak for me.
  18. Good idea or not? Surely it can’t work. Designed for 220 to live on, now going to be used for 500 to live on? It’s a gimmick, a drop in the ocean, shear pragmatism. Or have I got it wrong?
  19. If I’m reading you right I could move about mainland Europe and never have to return to the UK? Not that it bothers me if I have to come back.
  20. This is wrong then? Schengen 90/180 Rule - How Long Can I Stay in Europe? VISAGUIDE.WORLD Holders of Schengen visas are entitled to visit their primary destination and...
  21. Get in Will, don’t like it, do one.
  22. It looks like I can do the Irish passport thing through my grandfather, if I’m reading it correctly I can go out of the Schengen area and the clock resets, it’s a rolling 90 days in 180. Is that how you understand it?
  23. Ok, I’ll look into the Irish passport. Am I right in thinking that I could stay in one of the non Shengen European countries for ‘x’ amount of weeks and those weeks wouldn’t count, ie bounce between countries like Bulgaria and Croatia then back into the Schengen area?
  24. Yeah, possibly a fine and being banned from the Schengen Area, I’ve not heard of it happening, have you? I’ve not looked into it but my paternal grandfather was Irish, wonder if that entitles me to an Irish passport?
  25. As much as I agree it isn’t going to happen, ‘we’ve’ sold our assets off, I’m seriously thinking about getting another motorhome and doing Europe again. I’m aware of the 90 days in 180 (brexit) but I’m fairly good at hiding.
