  1. Having just seen the woodserve ,treetop production clips i'm quite inspired to have a go myself but don't know the first thing about camcorders. Can you reccomend one, cheers.
  2. Really enjoyed that.Would have liked to have seen some longer clips.Think the music goes really well with the clips and found it quite inspiring,Well done.
  3. Bear has done some pretty useful free climbing and he's not bad with his folding saw !
  4. Wouldn't want to share my dinner with him though !
  5. How aware are you of your own carbon footprint and what do you do as an individual or company to counteract it ?
  6. They are still learning, they have big shoes to stand in ,the likes of Nicholas Parsons and Humphrey Littleton, but I tip my hat to them, they will get there, just look at Paul Merton ...He's established for years
  7. Good to see pictures sometime but the radio lets your mind work.I once spent a whole year without tv and found it to be inspirational. Could easy do it again but the mrs is hooked on x factor and casualty, holby etc etc

    Fray Bentos

Fray Bentos pies in a tin, does life get any better ?
  11. bet you have good memories of that, will you take your twins and do the same ?
  12. Those replies give me hope for the future, anyone used to listen to the radio 4 anthem ,all british pomp and circumstance
  13. I think it's good to test yourself in these circumstances,we learn a lot about ourselves,Some people really freak out.I think If you can overcome isolation in survival you really empower yourself
  14. The comparison of ray mears and Bear Grylls is quite funny to.Both are exploiting the public's yearning for this 'back to nature' thing.Don't get me wrong I like them and respect them but is it for real ? Les Stroud is good too ,but is this all in the name of entertainment ? How about Guy Grieve ( call of the wild ) who actually spent a year out in Canada surviving and nearly dieing
  15. Poplar....a much maligned species ,let us not forget this is the quickest growing british hardwood and there are many positives to boot
  16. Spoken like a true Ray Mears
  17. The trend of survival appeals to a lot of men, away from it all, testing yourself against nature, but how many of you have walked the walk and jumped in ,tell us about your experiences or did you wish you was back home in your nice comfy bed?
  18. With so much emphasis put on tv have you ever thought of switching it off and listening to the radio ? Its suprising how entertaining it can be.Be it the highly informative radio 4,talksport or the various dab music channels. If you have never listened to Absolute 80 s radio give it a go,its fabulous and if your from that era it's uncanny how many memories it activates
  19. My view is that a call out is similar to a 999 call so charge accordingly.Just because we are not a government backed service to society dosent mean we aren't providing a rescue service.Value your skills and the real need of the call and charge on that basis.
  20. We offer a stacking service and clearly state so on our paperwork but we dont mind if people are not being too unreasonable.Only the other day delivered firewood to what turned out to be a transvestite.I couldnt turn down the request to put them in the shed because I felt sorry for the guy in a dress with 5 o clock shadow and a voice like terry wogan.

    Jackanory...

Was it the avon lady with your regular order ?
  22. We could certainly give them some experience either in forestry, conservation and small extraction and a mixture of tree surgery projects. With regards to health and safety we are Chas approved contractor so all that is in place.Contact us through our website Tree surgeon, wood surgeons, arboricultural contractors, Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Scunthorpe, Grimsby, NPTC and we can discuss further. If you have any more in the future we would be happy to come up with some arrangement.
  23. Just as a suggestion, why not try ringing up local plastic polythene producers. They have grinders that use very similar blades for chipping plastic off cuts as part of their recycling. They should tell you where they get their blades precision sharpened.
  24. Are you after one yourself ? I may have one coming up in the next few months, what are you using now? Think your price is a bit out though.
