  13. Cheers oldwoodcutter The tree was leaning to the right of that tree but there was a limb on a poplar next to it with a large limb that may have hung the tree up or certainly damaged its limb severely which would have upset the council. Trust me if a tree can be felled without being climbed I'll fell it I don't mess about. Looks different on the pictures.
  14. Can't explain it mate to be honest just didn't feel right thought I'd lost it haha I got on the deck annoyed with myself and ran up only to feel the same way. The tree had a heavy lean and a couple pockets of rot with signs of brackets that may have been knocked off lower down. Glad you've missed me jammy mate haha am keeping busy hope you are too pal
  15. Was up this tree a couple weeks back was asked to take it down. I came down thought I was being soft went back up it only to come down again. We've been waiting for some dry weather to get a mewp in and in the mean time it decided to come down itself. The tree itself is around 60ft and on top of a hill I was lucky.

  19. Not many cowboys fancy getting up a big tree Haha if they do they usually put a huge price on, when we first started I used to price big trees cheap to win the job and get our name about
  20. Sounds like the same ones I had had bother with sometimes u could swipe them and they'd still hang on! Couple of the lads had real bad swelling after a bite from them
  21. Were you working in the woods mate? I've had the same when working down in kenilworth was dead humid in the woods and too hot for a northerner so had me top off and they were biting onto me the lads said they were horse flies only thing kept them off was the jungle spray you can get it from boots

  24. Trouble is with the sign writing we have a crew does all our own work which is all sign written up but we have a crew which sub contracts a lot and they like us to keep out truck etc sign free. I thought of welding numbers on draw bar etc. I like the painting idea think we're gonna paint our chippers a different colour when we get time thinking Kawasaki green see if the chip faster:) I'd heard of a firm painting their plant pink! Bet it works
