  2. Best wishes to your family, Mark. Tough times. Dogs are with us such a short time, but they make such a difference. Especially when you need someone to sing to.
  3. It's tricky to imagine. Don't s'pose you could upload a photo.
  4. When I was a kid, that is the reply my mum used to give me when I was explaining something and she wanted me to know that she just couldn't give a kippers dick. ...

    4x4 pick ups

Rubbish. He hasn't even mucked up his trousers yet.
  6. Indeed Mark, hence the owner bit in inverted commas. Sad to hear of your hassle, especially on a machine you got refurbished yourself. Hope you get it back.

Where there are workers, there will also be Whatsappers.
  8. A good plan, but only likely to catch the unsuspecting/gullible new 'owner'. I would suspect it is more likely that a spout will be stolen to order on behalf of those that knicked it. If you have a tw125 in the locality, my advice would be to keep the spout well secured (and that doesn't just mean evenings and weekends).
  9. Fair play, mate. No one's ears want to hear bad things said against them. :- )
  10. Why would you wear ear defenders with such a high SNR up a tree? Sounds like the curious kind of idea that the tree cutting department of a power distribution company would come up with.
  11. Personally I would never lower my self to this appalling level of manipulation and unpleasantness. I mean, an ipad???? I wouldn't resort to associating with one of those things even they paid me the £40. Sent from my Huawei smart-toaster.
  12. But you are sat in the van for money. Their money. That will shortly be your money.
  13. I can think of a monster multi-stemmed lightning struck and rotted beech tree overhanging a gorge, footbridge and tourist information board at a Nation Trust site on Dartmoor, that I spent about a year not really wanting to do.
  14. Does that mean someone else took it down? That MEWP looks pretty blue...... BOB, Was it you?
  15. But, alas, that then means that you now have assured yourself that you are not actually indoctrinated, meaning that in reality you are.... Vicious loop you may never spiral out of, right there.
  16. Unfortunately not. Neither in the practical use nor the theory sections Chainsaw from rope and harness assessments have always permitted the use of top or rear handled saws whilst performing the cuts. There is no obligation to demonstrate the use of a topper. There are a couple of cursory questions on top handle use. I certainly did my CS39 with a rear handled saw. I have always advised experienced users of top handled saws to use rear handles for their assessments as well........ far harder to slip back into those bad habits!
  17. In general yes, except cars (of course). Cars and shotguns. ....and dangerous dogs. ...and drones near airports. ...and FM radio transmitters. ...and GPS jammers ...and creosote (the genuine stuff) ...and pretty much all work equipment. ...and zombie knives. ...and hoodies in Sefton. Actually, other than possibly "my-little-ponies" I reckon someone is trying to tell you what you can and can't do with pretty much everything.
  18. Christ, look at that tidy needlework. How on earth can they stuff all that back in there and leave it so neat - makes you really appreciate a real surgeons art.
  19. I hope they drive about in black 4x4s with heavily tinted windows. Sounds cracking fun.
  20. The body's ability to heal is indeed most amazing. Glad he got lucky when it mattered most.
  21. In short, no. Sorry. I have a 338 in the shed somewhere. Nothing on earth would possess me to rebuild it. :- )
  22. Comes with practice.
  23. Thanks for holding back on the photo, rather than shattering my rose-tinted illusions. I appreciate how his experience was far from "the very best feeling". How is he doing now? Is he still in the industry?
