  1. Have used morris oil for years with never had a problem
  2. Did something I would not normally do yesterday. I bought a saw of ebay an 051 with early style chainbrake spent most of today rebuilding it had to change carb as was only running with choke on changed exhaust for one I have ported ground out cylinder to match renewed all av mounts, all rubber pipes had to be replaced as pereshed think it has spent most of its life sat in a corner of a garage now just needs a good tune up.
  3. I also like the big old stihl's they just sound so good best buy this year was a 038 mag.

    Stihl 051

Does anyone have an 051 that is dead or dying that they no longer require I am currently rebuilding a project saw i,ve had for a few years and need the chainbrake and a few other bits will travel to collect.
  7. Congrats to you both and well done with the home birth
  8. Set up as picture above will get some better pictures when next in use
  9. Have a winch fitted in the rear crossmember of my truck just pull everthing straight on, have a small A frame on the front of the trailer which I hook a snatch block to lift the rope up to get a good stack.
  10. For everyday use I have general grabber at2 on my 90 they have done about 12000 miles and have used 4mm of tread but I do keep swapping them around to ensure even wear they are 35/12.50/15 on 10" rims. When in the woods I have a set of simex mud tyres on beadlock rims to ensure I have no problem pulling timber out.
  11. Chain seems to work very well on my little ms211 I would say it actually cuts better than with the stihl chain. I do not think it stays as sharp for as long as conventional chain but could not be more simple to sharpen. Think will be ideal when headge laying as always catching a bit of wire or a staple.
  12. Just recieved mine the wifes and the daughters going to try it on some beech from last year its been on the bottom of the pile and has quite a bit of soil on. Like the free gloves well worth having.
  13. Will be their on late on sat as on nights that week then with the family on sunday kids enjoy watching timbersports, had a good deal on a hedgecutter last year this year maybe a blower & a 660 or 395.
  14. Have a look at general tyres they are a good tyre at resonable prices I have at's on at the moment but tread fills up quite quickly when on clay so next set will be mt's got mine from southam tyres.
  15. I did exactly the same last year bought a property with land and workshop but was unable to sell my house so rented it out instead Just be careful with who you let your house to I thought I had a good tenent she is my wife's best friends sister. Three months ago she thought it more important to throw a big birthday bash for her daughter than pay the rent which I need to pay the mortage. I then found out she is smoking in the house which invalidates my insurance and still trying to catch up with the money. Everything had been fine for twelve months but now can not be bothered with tenents so property going to auction next month
  16. I have had a pair of elten hydrofell seven months now I am quite happy with them keep moisture out well and are comfy took a few days to break in though can't say how well they are wearing though as usually only worn on a weekend and I don't climb. The misses swears by her airstreams.

    stihl 051

I have two of these which get used for ringing any large timber I collect,if I remember right they are 89cc and about 6 hp but will depend on condition of bore as one of mine is quite scored and will only manage to run a 25" bar the other which is like new will quite happily run the 36" I recently fitted.
  18. Probably not no ecu, I have a 200 and did not touch the fuel screw just put on a allisport intercooler, screwed down the star wheel on the pump and put five turns on the turbo wastegate rod and a straight through stainless exhaust it was not any quicker but boy will it pull and sounds awsome to, still does about 30 mpg even on 35 inch tyres but drops with a trailer on.
  19. The goodwinch is ok I have one on the rear of my truck and use it more than the 8274 on the front for moving timber turning stumps etc. Two winch's are handy I got stuck on a field on saturday had to use front to pull myself forward then rear to pull trailer back to truck a ground anchor comes in handy sometimes.
  20. Never thought of that I did burn some willow that had been in the pile for only a few months put it on because the tree had been down for a while before I cut it. Any make of fire cement will repair the bricks ok just keep filling in the cracks.

    Trousers

I quite often put the winch ropes off the landy in the washer does a cracking job but have to remove hooks first I use fairy non bio as I was told biological powder can damage the rope

    Trousers

Does anyone have any tips on washing their trousers I have had my class c's about eight months now they usually only get worn on a weekend but i've had them on every day for the last ten days and I now think they will stand up on their own.
  23. Had a hunter eight for a while now seems to be ok I have a clip in boiler which does the hot water and three radiators upstairs only problem has been trying to keep it going all night, it very rarely does.
  24. Have got a hunter 8 also mine only lasted three years and thats only because I kept repairing them with fire cement they started breaking up after about nine months. To replace them I bought square sheets of firebrick and cut my own out it worked out about a third of the cost of hunter's own bricks
