  1. Only sixty trees down on the highways, we will be clearing the parks tomorrow then onto the woodlands midweek. Weather warning issued for Tuesday.
  2. Large multiple stemmed sycamore just crashed down on main road, were all looking for lead boxes to stick our phones in!
  3. Just south of penhow.
  4. Just want to go home now!
  5. Number 2
  6. Fortunately for me thus one is Newports problem! I'm off to sort Cardiffs problems out.
  7. Forgot to say it's is the terrafirma one and is forth TD5 onwards
  8. Got the WP 36. Excellent machine. Road towable with log lift, PTO and petrol engine fitted. Jim at Riko did me a great deal so best you speak to him.
  9. Got called out to "lasso" this bit of driftwood stuck on Radyr Weir, after the laughter pains went away we retired to the drying room for a brew.
  10. Jon, The best one I've seen is from Maverick4x4. £216 and there's no Vat to pay! Good bloke called Andrew, just got four new springs and four terriferma big boy shocks from him. Packed the parcel as I spoke on the phone to him, all will arrive tomorrow!
  11. What part of South Wales? I have contact with a large amount of timber but he'll only haul so far into Wales.
  12. Takes 40inch lengths, or just line the rings up.
  13. I got the A12 from Riko, road towable PTO and electric motor. I can use the tractor or use mains power. The electric is a bit slower but free of charge in the day thanks to my solar panels. It's great to take to jobs where people want there logs split, they can do it safely and use there own power! It can be pushed around very easily.
  14. Many thanks for my shiny new bits and a big thank you for the sweets, wondered why the dog wouldn't leave the parcel alone!
  15. Search for my topic" new bagging device" there's some pictures on it
  16. I hang them on hooks whilst I fill them, do three at a time. I think I posted a thread awhile ago called bagging device, I'll have look and post a picture.
  17. Hi Adam The bags measure 510mm by 850mm I get them from Rhodespackaging. Currently sell for £4 each. Cheap as chips I know!
  18. I was thinking about a firewood boiler on board, I wonder if they do a steam power conversion kit!
  19. Was fortunate to watch Wales beat Scotland in the Brig this year, I do like the Clachen Inn in St johns. I've got a wee cottage about a mile up the road (towards crocketford) from Balmecellan opp Bar Murrie farm. Usually drive down to the Brig drink several pints of Bellhaven Best then crawl back up the bloody hill!
  20. It must have been a great place to grow up, I've managed to walk the whole lot, I try to give Merrick a miss these days invade we bump into another walker! My favourite is Curlywee and the walk over the Rings of Kell. We got a place near Ballmacellan. If circumstances chance well move up there one day. Talking of Merrick we took another Arbtalk user up there and did the long route and fair play to him he did the whole lot in his chainsaw boots and only moaned once(hope he reads this post).
  21. That's the one, I'm going to look into it, I thought it might have been a British truck I thought the rear axle was similar to the 101.
  22. Can anyone ID this one! It's ex MOD. got six massive wheels and a tipper body with canvas cab. It was traveling at 70mph!! Looks like a great truck for collection timber on.
  23. Get a good book, read, buy good gear but most of all make sure you are good with the map and compass! Forget the iPhone and the GPS! we do four weeks every year in Scotland, two weeks on munros and two weeks in the Galloway hills ( got a cottage there). Start small and build up, some of them are real leg killers and up to ten hours on the hills can hurt! Small hills like the Galloway hills are just as rewarding, they may only be 2600ft but with no paths and people it's a great way to experience solitude! This year we did the five sisters of Kintail and Glen Affric as well as the dungeon hills and Corserine in the galloways.
  24. Finally sold the last of my bags this weekend so my bag store us empty! Well was empty, saw the forecast for the coming week and thought I'd get a few bagged up in case. The new floor is made up of plastic pallets on a layer of road plainings. hopefully buy the end of the month it will be full once again.
  25. New folding pallet forks arrived today. Useful in the way you can spread the forks apart.
