  2. all depends on your end product??? if the planks are meant for outside stuff, then they obviously need less drying than planks for interior,,,,

My whole house is made up from hand made stuff,and not made entirely by me, I appreciate the process in the things that I purchase, some people dont,as when I was 20 I just didnt have the money,whether I appreciated the craftsmanship or not,so the fact Im in a situation to be able to justify buying quality stuff,Id say your box is lovely,and I`d say the client who commissioned you will have a family heirloom,worth every penny,,some people will say £700 Jesus!!,,but could they make it? probably not,nor appreciate the time and skill involved,,but everything is relavant,,, top job,lovely box well done!!!

  9. it looks good mate, and Im sure its going too look great with the final finnish on it,,,I sometimes make stuff and never get the true value for it, but I just like the process in making it,,,if that makes sense,,,
  10. my bandsaw isnt that accurate, so always use the sawbench with a new blade, I just make the box a little larger to allow for the waste, but hey,if my bandsaw was that goodI would too,,how many hours has this box taken, and is it a commission?

  15. buy a couple of books mate,,,I learn loads from them, watch some you tube vids, and just research,,,your local college probably do a course,evenings or summer school, this would help with basicsjoints etc,,
  16. cheers mate,,glasto went brilliant,record yr, fantastic,weather ,saw loads of cool crafts,amazing bespoke vans/campers, wicked yurts,,,great bands,,,, (mutley) yes mate he only supplied me with 12 planks of WRC,and havnt milled any cedar as its too hot,,, busy with tree work today/tomorrow and wednesday, then thursday i start my next project,,,a thatched duck house for the village pond, parish counciljob,,should be interesting,,,,,
  17. knocked this up this week for a guy who supplied me the wood, western red cedar, hes going to finnish it himself,Oak legs and table frame,took me two and a half days.that included ripping the wood,planning etc. its 8ft long by 3.9ft wide.
