  3. I think you`ll find unless you take the centre out there going to split,,,,but for the short period of time you will need them ,them just release the pressure with a 10mm bit,,,in the centre,,,fill it with fimo,or any other kids play stuff,,,cedar is pretty stable, leave it till a few weeks before,,
  4. spooky james,me dad lives in chewstoke,,,
  5. having ate pizza in loads of clay ones,I think the forms you can create, like james,,add to the quirkiness,,,but will make a timber base, hence combining both options ,,
  6. I am keeping my shinny new one won in last years raffle until I retire and only do sledgin!!!

look forward to your progress, good luck mate
  14. mate I`m 44 with a bad back,,yes 5 logs on the alaskan will kill me lol, hence will have to try robs winch system,,,
  15. as I have a 880,,thats what I thought,,,,,(=£5k cheaper than a peterson!)
  16. I think a bandsaw,mizer/timberking/lumbermate whatever are great, but for speed on 6x2`s.8x2.s then the swing mills are way faster,,,,especially on your own,,
  17. well I aint seen a swing mill second hand for under £8k? yes a bandsaw mill is cheaper but thats not what its designed for. and as I have one of those ,,£3950 for the mill seems a fair price,I have an alaskan, which would kill me if I where to mill that whole log up,,havnt got round to using the winch like rob does, but will,,,,then have maybe another view,,,, if you own a bandsaw and want to quartersaw, you need something to lift off the huge lumps, otherwise its bloody hard work,
