  5. I made these for a country park, we call these lecturns,,,?
  6. interestering thread , I sell my by-products of tree work for £80 m3 cube, and have sold out a month ago, the costs are about £40m3 and when its gone its gone, I turn loads of customers away and say come back earlier next yr,,,and they do,,,,this yr I sold 200m3 and if I had 500m3 I`d sell that, but at the price of cord wood around here,and not having a large sum of capital to tie up in a processor and tractor, then I cant make buying it in pay,,,,people do there sums and arnt stupid, its actually cheaper to run off gas,,,,,more and more of my tree surgery customers are keeping there wood,,,!
  7. you could use two rsj`s and box them in , attach an 8x2 too the top and build from there,,,thats how I did the last one,,,,was for a country park,so needed to be strong,,,

  9. yes mate , I made a concrete bucket with an eye in it,with chain, and about 1.5 feet of slack chain,for water depth variations....
  10. fair point stubby,,like I said first one, so will see if it works?,,there is nine 25litre drums underneath,held in with chicken wire,,,,,first ducks had a go up the ramp today,,,,

  14. got asked two years ago by local parish council,to produce a floating duck house, needless to say after a few ciders, I agreed,,1 yr later they chased me,I made my excuses,,but eventually decided to get a group of bods together to produce something free of charge ,as I have lived in the village for 20 yrs and feel it would be nice to give something back,,,so thanks to david howell for the thatching(cost only) ,,,,so glad it floated,lol

    hi dave,,limited market to be honest, carvers love it, and its handy to have in your stock,,if you`ve got it you can promote it,,,if you havnt you cant,,simple really,,mill it,,someone will come along,,,the bigger sizes the better,,6x6,8x8 etc,,,
