  2. thanks for the advice, i will find another way. its touch and go if it would go through both ways on a 25" so i dont want to get there put the cuts in and find out it doesnt. The job will be felling a big beech butt with no crown and ringing it. josh
  3. i have one job coming up which needs a 36" bar, would it be possible to run it on my 460 on rare occasions or does it need a bigger engine? thnks josh
  4. i agree one way i wouldnt like to die is drowning so i wouldnt do it to a animal. I think drowning is the easy way for some who cant face touching it
  5. Are you not a proffesional? You could do a very scientific test yourself to find out, it goes as follows..... step 1) Light 1 fire out of green Ash step 2) light 1 fire out of seaasoned wood step 3) stand back and watch step4) see what burns better

  16. Thank you, I am working on the councils tree team through an agency at the moment some times we do disagree on whether a job is finished. This council is very good for caring for trees, however some do still get neglected
  17. This one had one good leader, no where near central thought, i kept a foot loop on my me which made a few limbs a lot easier but a certain lack of strong points. And yes it is a 4x4 iveco
  18. Exactly that sat in the van eating doughnuts then took a shot from afar and sent it to the arb offiicer saying it took all day
  19. This was a rare chance to do a crown reduction on the councils trees i was working for as its there policy not to reduce trees. Any way here is a picture of the finished job which was a 20% reduction, the tree was a norway maple. I forgot to take a before picture though. Any comments good or bad would be great

  22. My entec 150 is lacking something as the chips are to coming out of the shute very fast or far, I have been adviced that it may be the fins on the fly wheel have worn. Would you be able to shed some light on it for me? And if you think it may be the fins would you have a link that i can order some new ones from thanks. Josh
  23. i believe around £18 per hour, according to the last farm contractors price guide. But that an hour not a meter. might help though
  24. Im starting my tech cert at the end of september, and was wandering if anyone would have anyusefull books that they no longer need which may help me? Thank you
  25. have a root radar survey thingy done, im sure its pricey though buy then you can see exacrtlt where and how many roots
