  1. You should have bottled some of the water and sold it on as volvic with a price to match:biggrin:
  2. Again, I dont know the answer to your first queery. We never tend to start saws until 8 other than on jobs where there is a good reason to e.g. to avoid traffic while working over roads.
  3. I dont know if i'm more impressed with the pinkness or the stolen number plate idea...
  4. Thanks for the replys. I thought a waiver would most likely be the best solution. I'm not entirely sure what sort of insurance he's expecting me to have to be honest as public liability is pretty much irrelivant (unless i fell out of a tree and injured someone).
  5. I've emailed the manager of a large scouting campsite about 10 mins walk from my house to ask if I can climb some of their trees for a bit of practice and fun. I've offered to do a bit of work to say thanks for the access. He's replied saying it should be fine and would like to meet up. He also asked to see my insurances. I can completely understand where he's coming from particularly in this day and age. I'm not sure what the best thing to do is. Should I ask my boss if he's happy that I'm covered by his insurance? Discuss the option of signing a waver to free the campsite and any persons involved with its responsibility? Any help appresheated guys:001_smile: Matt
  6. I got it throught last weeks thanks
  7. The England team today visited an African orphanage. "Its great to put smiles on peoples faces who have no hope and are constantly stuggling against the imposible" Said Jamel Umboto, age 6.
  8. I'd be interested if i can make it:001_smile:
  9. Was interested to know what everyone uses while climbing. I've seen everything from the usual silky zubat to small folding saws and even saw someone usual a bowsaw from a mewp! I've got a 300mm silky zubat and as of tomorrow hopefully a saw pod for it. So, what do you use?
  10. I've got a little wire gate crab and it works a treat for quickly stowing the saw if you need your hands free. Can even clip it to a small branch temporarally to get it out your way.
  11. Sneaky! Enjoy your hol's
  12. Thanks guys:thumbup: I must have been half asleep while i was looking for it! Matt
  13. Does anyone know any stockists of the 2.2mm stuff as i can only find the thinner stuff listed online. Thanks. Matt
  14. Looks like a nice spot! I always struggled to find places to climb or for that matter people to climb with when I lived in reading. There were a few nice places on the uni campus in town but that was about it. Will give you a pm next time i'm down that way (quite frequently) and may be go for a climb if the sun is out.... Just looked up those tree boat's, Awesome!! Matt
  15. I've only been to the AA show once (two years ago) and wasn't supprised by the food/beer situation as its much the same at many events I visit, but there's always room for improvement! I'd like to have come down this time but the lack of sunday opening and long drive have forced me to miss out. May be next year...
  16. I like it! I hope I never need this ploy but It will be duely noted.
  17. That reminds me, a mate of mine emailed pics of a problem with some boots to haix and they just posted him some new ones. Worth a try me thinks...
  18. I've got the exact problem with a new pair of protector pro's from george carr. Its affecting both boots. damn.
  19. This was my problem, I've been pleased with the hot knife method til now. When my cord arrived it had been cut but then had a small section of clear heat shrink put over the ends which also seems to do the trick. Only problem is I hadnt got any heat shrink.
  20. Well my interest in the tread is because I'm in the market to buy for myself finally... Its good to have the choice as a consumer! Matt
  21. Sorry, I didnt word myself very well. All I was trying to say was that It has the option of more than one attachment. Matt
  22. Ah, I hadnt realised that!
  23. That is one good looking bit of kit! Those guys at DMM have some finesse.
  24. I'm not wishing to knock this new pulley, just interested about where stein stand in terms of copywriting. I think I'm right in saying that the DMM hitchclimber pulley is the first micro pulley of this type with two attachment points, allowing the other end of your rope to be attached back to the climber through the pulley. The new stein pulley is clearly designed to have much the same purpose. Is this design idea owned by the hitchclimbers designers?
