Bless him. I had my brother in law come and help. we agreed to take home half each what we produce, A days wood for a days work. Mind you he did take the pi$$ and took home more. Might be a good idea to say what he can take from the outset.

We was going to get a burner attached to the radiators until we saw the quote. Our Stovax 8 heats the house on it's own in no time. It can be minus 8 outside and we are walking around in T-shirts. I stuck a eco fan on top which helps circulate the heat better.

I've only burnt Spruce for the last 3 years. Made a mistake the first year and split it too small as it burns too fast and hot. You end up spending most of your time throwing logs in. I now split it twice the size of hardwood. It's trial and error.

My gas bill is £13 per month, it's just for the hob and heatiing water. The woodburner heats the house and the logs are free.

Couldn't think of anything worse than ripping up a perfectly good woodland.
