  1. I have a 200t that won't rev, just splutters, until it's running out of fuel and then it gets better. The carb is set ok and it's not the accelerator pump. Any ideas?
  2. Hello Nick, have you worked with trees before, any quals? There seems to be hundreds of tree surgeons in Sheffield these days. If you go for a walk anywhere and listen, you'll hear a saw or chipper, go and offer to drag or whatever. If they say no, walk a couple of hundred metres and listen again, there's bound to be another company just up the road. Someone will say yes 👍
  3. SHE'S ALIVE!!!!!! Thank you bob for getting the parts to me promptly, you've saved the day being so kind!! I had to get a new Battery for it but once on it started straight away. It would have been hilarious if the battery light had still been on, but luckily all is good
  4. I've only had the saw a month so I'm trying my hardest not to get it done at the moment. I am aware though that when I get the saw done in a years time, I'll be wishing I'd got it done a year ago 😀
  5. That looks lush, do you weld it in or braze? If you braze, which rods do you use?
  6. It's been a quiet start to the year but it's starting to pick up a tad now. It's been yonks since I last saw you, we must have a brew sometime soon 👍
  7. Yeah I should have waited until he could have made it over, less haste - more speed and all that 😀 Hope you're well matey 👍
  8. Done it Bob. Thank you very much for doing this, I've made a total mess and you've saved the day!!
  9. Nice one bob!! I need the van for Wednesday morning so I may have to make it work somehow! Where do you live?
  10. Thanks for all the help and pics. I'm burnt but now I've got it off! Now I need a stud extractor to get the remains out!! Or just put a new one on with just two bolts, it's the one at the bottom closest to the pulley that's broken?
  11. It's a bolt. I got a blow torch and used best but still no difference. I think I'm just going to grind it off!
  12. Yeah I think the next thing I'll buy will be a welder, will always come in handy. I'm going to have a dabble at a smaller socket and a bit of filing. It's imperative it mended for Wednesday so it's going to have to come off one way or another. I just want to change the brushes but can't get at them with it in situ!
  13. It's the irwin ones I tried but they didn't work! The bolt is under the van holding the alternator on so access is a little poor. I think I'll try hammering something on but there no room to swing. I think if the worst comes to the worst I'll have to grind the head off so the alternator comes off, and then maybe drill the stud out and use a longer bolt and nut in its place? Maybe the alternator will be ok with two bolts holding it on?
  14. Hello I hang my head in shame - for I have rounded a bolt. Without a welder, how would one get it out? It's a 13mm, I'm thinking of holding a 12mm socket on it, spraying some black paint through socket to get the shape and then filing to match. Is there an easier way? I brought some special sockets but they didn't work!
  15. Awesome!!! I feel blessed having a grand master such as yourself looking over me 👍👍😀
  16. Nice one Mark. If I had loads of booze before I have a look, do you think it'll turn mine into a rare twin-batteried-transit too???
  17. Thanks everyone for your ideas, I'll have a look at in the the daylight tomorrow and see what I can find. I've read somewhere that the two batteries are under the drivers seat and you have to take it out to change them, is this so?
  18. Cheers dude, it'll be interesting to see because it does sound like you could be right, it was fine before the time sat on drive. Just watched a vid of a bloke changing some brushes, what sort of shop sells them if new ones are needed?
  19. That's interesting to know Bob, thanks. I was going to buy a heavy duty jump pack! One thing, is the battery under the bench seat, not had a chance to look tonight?
  20. Cheers, how would I go about freeing it off?
  21. Hello all I have a problem with my transit tipper. It was sat on the drive for a month and a half over Christmas without being started. I started it yesterday, which it did fine to my surprise, but the battery light stayed on. I took it for a spin to top the battery up but the light didn't go out. I used the van today and it started fine, but on the way back to the yard after work the lights all went real dim, indicators stopped and speedo wasn't working. I dropped the chipper off and then it wouldn't start, got it jump started and just made it home. I'm thinking that the battery is fine because it started after the long break, but then using it yesterday and today was to much because the alternator wasn't recharging? Do you think just need a new alternator, or a battery as well?
