  1. Can't speak for the geckos but bashlin titaniums with the steel pads are great..... Spikes are like boots, you get what you pay for Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. I agree that is how it should be, but building those kind of work relationships takes years, and there will be alot of people who count alot more vice than versa along the way.... Sent from my SM-N9005 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Galaxy note 4, big screen, android, laptop gets used for everything that the phone can't do, which isn't much, haven't owned a pc since the nineties, and have never really learnt to use one Sent from my SM-N9005 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. I'm a brit expat living in Slovakia, I can source climbers and groundsmen if anyone is interested. The problem is going to be, wages, certificates, accommodation, and in a few cases language. Wages for a climber here in Slovakia are comparable to the UK, I start at 150€ a day, rigging big pops I get 250. ... there's not a lot of work tho... so I go to Germany every now and again where 250 is the average. I think as was said before the pay in the UK is terrible and that is the biggest hurdle Sent from my SM-N9005 using Arbtalk mobile app

    So Fed Up

Take a break from tree work when you can, then, if you still want to do it, come back and you'll be twice the climber/tree worker you where before. You need to be able to earn while you take your break, so plan and adapt your skills and interests accordingly. I took 2 breaks, to be a scenic carpenter, (building theatres and theme parks) and to be a stay at home dad. Neither stuck so I'm back climbing and enjoying it, earning enough to do what I want. If you come back to it with new found enthusiasm like I did, follow jomoco's advice and make yourself indispensable to employers by specialising and investing in equipment Sent from my SM-N9005 using Arbtalk mobile app

  20. One the guys i work with has the ms 192 which is very nice, on a lighter note, haha, i saw a top handled saw by a czech company called hecht in my local tesco of all places, my neighbour bought one for the garden and at 120 euro seemed quite a bargain... just hope he doesnt hurt himself
  21. I'd defininetely use canvas, I bought my bell tent a few years ago and didn't realise how cool they are in the heat, definetely a bonus if you want a lie in at a festy. Kids love em' too
  22. no offense tommer9, but if he is gonna do the job and take responsibility, is the price not up to him? sometimes the kids need new shoes etc. i agree with not devaluing what we do but there are also regionall considerations, its tough up north they tell me...
  23. yeah, i think full stop in wrong place, for that price it should arrive in a gold plated limo with 2 leggy blondes serving krug champagne and beluga caviare.... in the bahamas
  24. anyway of bracing it with a tirfor? and hang two of you off rope to test it? and find a sudden interest in whether god listens to prayers? good luck...
