  2. most arbs and all customers dont realize the best work is not done overnight, it takes time, tree time to turn a sows ear into a silk purse. in this case the silk purse is the veteran old tree safe and in good form despite "issues":thumbup1: as opposed to the "its goosed fell and replace" brigade, the lazy approach.
  3. nice work fella, its nice when you get a long term relationship with a patient aint it
  4. a tiny nylon hammer is as effective as a large mallet, and less likely to be used "vigorously"!
  5. well figures like this dont lie, it seems to me that nature has a way of balancing things out

  7. an interesting article that hints at a decline in population is happening, due to many factors but reproduction rates are slowing across the board. While it suggests this is poor for economy, to me it signals hope for the global system/ecology The Entire Economy Is a Ponzi Scheme. The Global Financial System is Insolvent | Global Research

  16. i am not out to convince you, not my game at all, just giving the benefit of my experience. given host and context Daldinia is highly unlikely
  17. well I have been wrong in the past, and sure to be again!
  18. xylaria, daldinias and all of these types can become hollow with age and predation. the Xylaria is a white flesh, snaps like a carrot, daldinia an entirely different animal, which by the way tends to be far browner on beech. there are around 7-9 species of daldinia.
  19. go and snap it in half, tis alright, common fungi and will come again
