  6. Is it that bad and big a deal Huck? seriously, its just abook, if your that worried about the AT reputation being "muddied" I will, as I already have get over myself and move on.
  7. "cliff tops" by Eileen dover
  8. it IS constructive Andy, if nothing else it tells me you actually give a crap about the concept! your being persistent so you obviously care. I am not naive, I choose to be trusting, its a choice not naivety:biggrin: I hope my grammar was not too offensive this time?
  9. thats called Moral support you pedant!
  10. ha ha ha ha a new V's thread to argue over! lol, britons rule the arboreal kingdom, it is a simple fact, this is where its done and done well and British climbers are desired all over the world, so there! aussies,NZ bring it on!
  11. You and me both my friend, NEVER worry about gramer here, it really doesnt stop anyone understanding, its only the pedants that care about such issues, not everyone has great grammer, me included, but we can still hold our own!
  12. I suppose I was bound to get a bit personal when the first went missing, especialy THAT one, which was and is my all time best book. its cool, and indeed this is, and not just mine anymore, this shared shelf is also now Andrew cowans shared bookshelf, and andy's shelf made mine look like a bedside reading shelf! Im racking my brains about it, but Im not going to change it, it works and is valued and best of all its almost free, a rare rare thing in this day and age.
  13. THATS a GOOD idea! your welcome here anytime:thumbup:
  14. done, was looking for something more you in the boxes but this will do then!
  15. I knew Andy would have a copy of this in the boxes! a good one to get out in the ether, the batworkers manual, a good intro into bats:thumbup1: usual rules apply, six weeks loan then pass on to the next poster in line.
  16. Lol, not wanting to derail I will as ive been intending to start a thread on this VERY fungi as soon as Ive dealt with this massive book deposit! I may be some time!
  17. oh whats your fancy? give me an arbor ecology heading, like bats, grazing ecology, etc etc and I will delve into the vault that is the Cowan library!
  18. and what about the taxation issues? income generated
  19. everything we do requires taking a risk, you have to understand that trust is something that is needed in this world, trust, and faith, without those things we have only distrust and negativity. I cannot change the very principles I set out on, that is a risk I am willing to take, this is a free resource, will always be free and a few losses will have to be taken into account. though you raise some good ideas there for the admin side of things:thumbup1:
  20. Sean, I really appreciate that, the big brother instinct and stubborn as a mule attitude means I dont accet help from anyone! lol, letting others help me is like my krptonite! lmao. I will find another copy, and like you I also believe that good spirit, and intentions and definitely Karma are the rules by which I play. maybe Im being overly harsh on Ash, lets hope it turns up some day.
  21. indeed, reading is one part of the learning proscess, we must also back that reading up with our own investigation and enquiries, reading can be a great inspiration and influence ones thoughts, but only nature itself will tell you everything.
  22. Good stuff sean, I might have a few books behind me here youll enjoy!
  23. A lot of people wont have substantial deposits to put down, some of these books are into the hundreds, average is 50 quid, theres a lot of thinking to do, I would like to rely on good will, even allowing for the odd misshap.
