In the top right of the video screen it says HD. Turn it off and it should work. I had the same trouble and it took me ages to figure it out. Nice film Drew. Making me want to go back to NZ though
  2. A mate of mine went to look at that the other week (guess it's been relisted). He said its massive! Makes a mog look small. Think he said the bloke was looking for about 5k.
  3. I was in Queenstown last month. I saw some guys working and asked about work there. He said that there was a new 'crew' that had just moved into town so work was getting a bit low and competitive as there aren't all that many trees there! He said go to Auckland and it'd be pretty easy to find work.
  4. I'm on holiday in NZ at the moment and i'm amazed at how expensive climbing gear is. Anything made by Petzl is nearly double UK prices! I came here looking for where to live if i get a working visa to do some climbing, but now i'm thinking i'd be better off importing gear and starting a shop!
  5. I'm sat in a backpacker in Auckland getting ready to go home:thumbdown: Seen some amazing sights and some impressive trees. Like this one.
  6. RBTree, after looking through your great pictures for the last hour or so i think this shot is a good contender for the 'Lunge' thread thats going on! LG1H8557 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
  7. I'd just go for one of the little £20 polystyrene ones. PicooZ Micro R/C Helicopter : Toys & Games : Maplin Theres loads around in all the little gadgets shops that pop up this time of year. I got one for my brother last christmas and it was great, and he's 32! They're easy to control, pretty hard to break, and its not much money when the novelty wears off in a week. My Mrs got me one of the big 3-channel ones and they are pretty hard to fly and you need a BIG room because thet dont like being used outside. I watched mine dissappear over my fence and across a field on a very calm day!
  8. It had a 'buy it now' of £175 when it started a couple of days ago! Was gonna buy it just to sell on!
  9. I bought these. Oxford Moldex Spark Plug 100 Ear Plugs, 50 Packs on eBay (end time 22-Dec-09 14:30:58 GMT) They were mainly for riding my bike and are pretty good and comfy. Each pair come in little sealed packets so i can chuck a handful in my kit bag and they dont get flithy.
  10. One of its relatives has just appeared too:ohmy: 1992 ROVER RANGE ROVER TURBO DIES BLACK on eBay (end time 24-Oct-09 20:14:01 BST)
  11. Nice work. Your climber does appear to have something missing from his head though:001_huh:
  12. I my opinion no, students don't learn anything... well not the right things anyway. I went to Moreton Morrell to do an arb HND nearly four years ago and i really didn't think much of the course. The trouble was there was no way near enough emphasis on trees! Instead half the course was either business related or to be honest just pointless. I had to sit through lessons showing me how to do my accounts, lay out a letter, marketing, and how to use a computer, and these lessons literally made up half the course! I had no practical lessons, never went near a chainsaw, and my only intruction on how to actually do tree work was a copy of BS3998. If i hadn't been fortunate enough to find part time work with a local tree surgeon on my days off college i'm not sure i would have even known how to tie a bowline! ooo i just lost my arbtalk virginity!
