  7. good lord you have had your moneys worth out of them ,can not belive the laces lasted that long ,mine went after a year
  8. as i prssed the submit i thought of that sky huck ,some folk around here do take trees down for the wood ,ash trees are standing gold to some guys with a blunt stihl 017 and a few spare hours ,i did price up coal the other day and it was 240 a ton ,what do you recon would you get more heat from that compared to 240 pounds of fire wood ? seasond hard wood that is ?
  9. i think so ,but my point was ,for folk to say if i could not get x ammount for my wood it would not be worth doing it ,i make good money on what i do ,as its free ,and costs for processing are not to bad over all
  10. i see where you fire wood guys are coming from ,but im a tree surgeon . my wood is free ,my shed space is worth money but if i rented it out would only bring me around £1000 or so a year and would have to put up with a tennant ,we process fire wood as and when ,early finishes from tree work ,wet wet days and here and there ,8 hours splitting gives me around 6 toyota hilux fulls maybe 7 and i sell them for £100 each ,thats 700 pounds a day minus fuel and the shed value ,my delivery truck is owed and run my the tree busines ,but fire wood is a branch out from the arb side of my work, excuse the pun
  11. they affect the price alot ,if you live in london you pay big time compared to south wales ,it goes up and down aswell ,some people are so tight around here ,people think who do you think you are charging 100 plus for a small bag of just WOOD ??
  12. thats wild money for around here ,i will only get 55 for a builders bag of dry hard wood and that is including delivery ,but 2 bags not one whitch is £110 deliverd
  13. its not sold yet ,but combined tree services are very intersted so will not be talking money untill i have herd from them ,thanks for your interst
  14. yes it was ,its to big for my tractor aso it has to go
  15. Timber trailer is ready to go ,will email you later
  16. sorry to hear that ,get on ebay and have a scout ,it will either be sold asap or kept hidden for a while
  17. if you use a small walk behind grinder and dig around the stump before you start grinding i find the machine falls in and makes it alot harder to move left to right
  18. i think thats a little bit of a crazy thing to say ,i run a 3.5 tonner and it's payload aint to bad i can put about 1.3 ton of chip before im over ,i understand where your coming from but it would be crazy using a big lorry to do light tree work ,a 3.5 ton truck ticks a lot of boxes for tree work if only for access and only having to mot once a year ,and if an aa arb firm only run big trucks then every one would have to have a hgv or what eva you need to drive them
