as you know the chat room is playing up so no one is using it, am feeling deprived of my late night chats lol

ive got an msn group set up with garth mc garth threw our msn windows live messenger email address so we can chat live.

i was gona post this but i thort id run it threw you first.

all you need is an msn email address ( hotmail.com or hotmail.co.uk address) and install their windows live messenger, then get everyone to post their email address ( if they want to, or pm each other ) and just add each other

what are your thoughts on this idea?

  9. hey dave the tree consultant i use is only £250 and he'l do a climbibg inspection and takes pics while he's up there and then you get a 10 page essay with the finished inspection. if ya want his number give me a ring as to the issue of £500 a day, most charge per tree and if you bulid up ya clients you'll get it even cheaper, the prices are negotiable and at the end of the day they rely on us for work so use that to your advantage, just use one guy and he'll keep the prices down for ya
  10. Mesterh, dude i started just making planks for some shelves but then if you look at most furniture its really quite basic, with some querks thrown in,giving it that traditional look that people love,if u have a bad imagination like me then just get some ideas from other peoples stuff on arbtalk or check the forum called alsakan mill on the sponsored forum thread ive made a nice little sum of £800.00 making sleepers from a big job i done rcently dude once u know wot u can make, sell it to ya customers. wot i do is when i email quotes and invoices i send a few pics as well of stuff ive milled. im getting a lot of good feedback for definet milling work once the trees are felled, ya just offering another service hope this helps

  12. hi rob, stupid question time am i rite in thinking the bigger the mill, the more cc saw you need to run the bigger bars, as i have a jonsered turbo 2165, it does run a 24" bar no problem, i beleive its equivelant to 65cc
  13. lol i was chattin to josharb about these before i saw this thread, i did something similar for a client of mine about 2weeks ago, but yours looks loads better than mine, very cooooool:thumbup:
  14. i have a floating beam i hung in my front room, i took it down, bevalled the edges with saw and put the belt sander to it and then used danish oil, it came up a rite treat. i used my small alaskan mill that i bort from rob d at alaskan mill, fantastic tool for planking and making beams and benchs the first pic is rough cut and has been hung for about a year the second pic hsa been sanded then treated with the oil
  15. thanks bart, im using danish oil,it brings out all the lines really well, i have a floating beam i hung in my front room, i took it down, bevalled the edges with saw and put the belt sander to it and then used the oil, it came up a rite treat. i used my small alaskan mill that i bort from rob d at alaskan mill, fantastic tool for planking and making beams and benchs i cant show pics cos the site wot let me show more than five pics for some reason!!!! so wil put the pics on another thread called PICS OF YA MILLED PRODUCTS

  22. this is milled from cherry i found in my wood, its 1" thick and used a postcard to do the shapes, then cut out with a jigsaw, then used some thin see threw plastic and some cardboard for the backing
  23. i cut some blocks for the legs, not sure wether to make some nice legs or just beval the edges and sink them into the bench, they wont be seen very well anyway, av finsihed sanding it, av just put the first layer of oil on it
  24. IT WAS ALRITE,JUST MAKE SURE U USE A RIPPING CHAIN AND GET YA LEVEL RITE, I USE A PLANK SCREWED TO THE TOP AND USE A LEVEL TO GET THE RITE LEVEL THEN MILL AWAY,YOU COULD BUILD A LOG CABIN WITH ONE OF THE SMALL MILLS, IM DEFINTELY GONA GET A BIGGER MILL I WOULDNT GO ANY LONGER THAN 24" AND WEN I MILLED THE OAK IT WAS GOING THREW THE HEART SO IT WAS A BIT JUMPY, I JUST TOOK MY TIME:thumbup: IT WAS THE HARDEST BIT OF WOOD IVE CUT, JUST MAKE SURE YA CHAIN IS REALLY SHARP
