  14. Sycamore and Goat Willow......these trees were bigger than they look. Appeared to be taht the Sycamore had seeded in cavity of the willow and as they have both grown bigger the Sycamore has literally split the willow apart. Well worth a visit this little spot for those near Hertford.

[quote rest in peace, Pops. what an amazing and inspirational project and post. To have a tree let alone a group of trees bearing ones name is an honour and im sure a befitting memorial to your Dad......im sure hes looking down and very proud of what you have done.

  17. Anybody familiar with this? http://www.otiss.co.uk/wp/consultants/bs5837-surveys/ I have been looking at 5837 surveying software for a few weeks and have had some good advice both from the forum and elsewhere. Having spoken to James England it seems that because our company is totally reliant on Apple (mac book, ipads and phones) this is proving problematic in finding suitable software. The surveying side of company is in its early stages and surveys are sporadic. The OTTISS system therefore looks to be a possible solution to our needs right now. Hopefully there will be others on here who are willing to share their thoughts and/or their experience with this system. Many thanks in advance.
  18. Apart from the couple of members who posted in a previous thread im astounded that out of all the members on arbtalk there is not a single reply to this thread. :confused1:There seems to be a reluctance to share info on this subject. Where are all the surveyors. Surely there are other members who can help with this subject:confused1: Rant over........all help welcome.
  19. Thanks for info James England just back from holiday so hopefully will speak with him tomorrow. Just been looking at keyTREE...has some good reviews. Pt mapper pro looking good too. We want to use software with a Mac and hopefully with the ipads....anybody know if this is possible? Bit of a rant now.....i cannot believe there are only a couple ofmpeople on the whole forum who have info to share regarding this thread? Where are all the consultants and surveyors:confused1: is there a general apathy with regards sharing information such as i am after.....i truly am bewildered at the lack of help regarding this topic.
  20. Looking for advice on tree mapping software. To be used for tree surveys and 5837 reports etc. what do you use? What are the reccommendations? All advice welcome. Cheers
  21. Bump...for those who may not have seen this thread. Still looking for advice
  22. so unfortunately the tree came down.....as i said before there was a really heavy lean towards next door and they wanted it out. Heres some photos of the main trunk and 1 st limb. The stem photos start with the ring cut just above the lowest bracket.
