  3. nooooo lol this was a job i had end of last year sumtime
  4. bit of a extreme way to change the tyres aint it
  5. ooo yes plenty of them about was next door to this job was sum lads locking up there 10yr old diy saw in there truck cab while round the back i was like i wouldnt even want to nick that heres a before pic from google street map dont no when that was taken though.
  6. hope not, i said on the way down i dont envy who has to go up this and re-reduce it. not alot to stand on up there now
  7. no before picture but it turned out alright was a arkward one to reduce mainly because majority of it was over next doors front garden and drive with 3 cars under it which couldnt be moved till the next day cause neighbours didnt get on so they were all being as arkward as they could so first pic is how far we had got at 10.30am on first day that was as much as we could do without the cars being moved, and the storm that blew up made the call to come back next day when the cars were moved and hopefully better weather. so we arrived this morning cars were moved but moved more into the way flat battarys so we pushed them out the way and got the rest done without any wind. was about 20meters so not very tall but very spread out with nasty old pollard unions at the main folk
  8. i went back to check up on how it recovered from my reduction and its come back into leaf. no branches without leaf, or spilt out branches so looks like shes stood up to the recent winds just fine with the reduction
  9. i have also worked with neil on some accasions he is a top bloke, always smiling, very good on the lowering ropes, and always works 110%
  10. so have i missed something, it sounds like your wearing your spikes with a pair of walking boots?
  11. looked like a perfect day for it reg, how long it take to get down out of interest?
  12. if it was my job i would have felled it straight from as high as i could it would have just fit i reackon, but dans abit causious with that sort of thing so dismantle it was
  13. well i think the "that will do" attitude comes around in a few more years i think the aussies can have them back there horrible trees same with the old pops
  14. scroll down this page and you will find all different kinds you can get to fit onto the transits and other vans Replacement bumpers & winch-fitting kits: Landrover Discover, Isuzu, Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger etc.
  15. well my self i have a transit tipper and my opinion is there great, guy i work with regular has a landy 130tipper and i really cant see why he loves it, it weighs 3ton empty and that is terible offroad sinks upto the axles on flat lawns etc. landys are good until you cut them up and stick a tipper on the back.
  16. cheers for that, yer ive been told about that, at a competition i did they wouldnt let me use it, but in that same comp i won the top krab in the vid so i just need win another one and im sorted
  17. yup im always guilty of missing most of the log beds, why i dont bother setting any out, guy i was with stuck them down but there we are
  18. was brought in to climb and dismantle this for meridian woodlands east. it had alot of dead branches, everything was staying on site and amazing weather, done and dusted in a relaxed way by 1pm enjoy [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EosTK_QojPs]YouTube - ‪eucalyptus dismantle‬‏[/ame]
  19. im james, how dare you compare me to ian in the flesh its looking very good all green leaf no die back, the real test will be this time next year
  20. i reduced this walnut 3months ago, i said id get a pic of how it recovered, didnt get a decent pic cause i didnt want to just walk onto people property but its come back well
  21. id be interested to see how you get on with getting a conversion im sick of my velcro bottom straps keep falling down off my foot
  22. a good groundy should be on the same as a good climbers salary if you ask me, climbers job may well be more skillful sometimes and more risky but working on the ground is just as hard work. i think it should be upwards of £100 any less and your doing it for peanuts which i think is just like slave labour, its a physically hard job. i treat people how id liked to be treated, i wouldnt work for nothing so i dont expect anyone else to simples.
  23. had a eventful day today had a balsam poplar to remove this mornings job A, was to close to the house's B, was to big for how close it was and C, because it was a twin stemed split at about 1 inch off the ground to about 4ft off floor as we sliced it they split. anyways we battled on for a hour or so had one stem rigged out to a pole then we rigged out the 2nd stem to almost a pole (two 3inch tops left) and a very angry lady turns up shouting the odds saying how dare we cut down this tree blar blar going on about how its a council tree and its a protected species, cut a long story short i came down, gave her the details of the estate agents i was doing the job for, off she went we sat in the truck for a hour or so get a call from estate agents telling me ignore her there mangers have just doubled checked and its all fine. so we get straight back out the truck rigged out the remaining before woman came back im basically just having a rant, but made me think ooooo sh*t im in for it now. but as far as i no theres no protected trees is there apart from TPO'ed trees and conservation area etc??
  24. i have thought of doing similar before on conifers before but never got round to trying it out, but looks like it worked well, how did it cope with timber though? be interested to see some more pics
  25. thought you was more of a cider man, least it will have a seat so u dont fall over backwards and spill your booze like the game fair
