  1. thats a serious amount of winching, fair play to you, i bet alot of people would look at that job and walk away
  2. shame they werent being felled or we could have just about got away with felling some straight from the ground, least we will be back in a couple years when they regrow alot thicker than they were at the start
  3. crashing out sections of poplar today, 100yards from the beach, very swirly wind made things abit interesting, more pics to follow in next few days. wish i had my helmet cam with me was some big lumps felling out of some, all that easy big stuff has all gone now. i will get a pic of the finished row of pollards though, and the woodpecker who wouldnt go away.
  4. yup i had woman ring me up few months back exactly this, a booklet that goes round to head teachers £150+ vat waste of time id say.
  5. yup i quoted 3 days with one of them 4wheel drive platforms you can drive while up in it, then another 3 days to do the two big conifers that are coming out. lets hope i havent cocked it up i have enough on it so if we run over day or two im still on a win but i reackon will do it in 3 days if the mewp people turn up on time and it works all the time
  6. a nice conifer hedge ive got to do in the next month or so. 1 meter off the height and trim the sides far in as i dare then couple of big conifers to fell pic dont really show the scale of them but you can kinda get a scale when you see the portacabin next to it.
  7. not many trees you cant do with just a main climb line and a lanyard/wirecore
  8. cheers lads, it certainly saved ALOT of time, left a much tidyier finish on the wall and made the whole thing alot easier, id still be there now with the ladder up there with a hammer and flat head screwdriver hammering it off if that hadnt worked
  9. its equivalent to the 880, its a good saw just like the 880 bloody heavy when got big bars on it but you expect that with a big saw. it turns to personal choice i dont like the way the 880 feels whereas i like the 3120 some people are opposite personal choice really they are far from cheap the 3120 or the 880
  10. it certainly came down with a thud
  11. can run a 24inch to biggest husky bar is 42inch but you can buy the big 72inch bars that will fit the 3120 but i have never used bigger than the 42inch wouldnt want to either its a ball ache, especially up the tree
  12. i run mine with a 26inch and runs fine just gotta make sure its super sharp, but i very rarely do ground work so i want big bar with light saw up the tree considering my next saw up is my 3120
  13. just a hand winch, will get more places than my transit.
  14. with this job i knew i didnt have to worry about the dish as its a house being turned into a childrens home i do alot of work for them all over the county, so they just bought this house and renovating it into there needs. but it is worth knowing to make sure its clear around objects first
  15. looked at this job and instantly thought i hope it just winches off otherwise will be a right pig of a job. so step 1 cut stem step 2 felling lever a gap to get a sling in step 3 winch off step 4 roll over and cut into thin strips step 5 stick the strips through the chipper step 6 go to the pub
  16. yes with a screw gate instead. works really well with a spliced eye never fails to retreive. also makes world of good with makeing it much smoother. simple and effective
  17. sandringhams royal estate is worth a look big trees in there all different species you could want aswell
  18. always drink 2 litres of lucozade orange everyday at work
  19. i have not lowered my self to that level, i have plenty of pics i could post. i would have 40odd more videos to show him if my other youtube acount hadnt been deleted but i have nothing to prove to anyone, i make videos and take pics for my own pleasure and sharing on here and for my business. in business terms the small jobs make the most money anyways
  20. wow very exciting you can climb small trees to
  21. yer fork mate haha well i cant help being un-exciting and retarded
  22. i still wouldnt have been comfortable felling it without the landy winch or the tractor, it needed some pulling to get it going, im no expert in felling with a tractor or winch but you do risk barber chairs if you pull to much with a to bigger hinge definetly
  23. yup haha bring your special folk 2morow mate i have a feeling we are gunna need to load up my transit badly with conny chip
