  2. Steve has gone back now, and the trial is over, but he will be back soon.... Yeh its a good craic, just bloody expensive.... still acclimatising mate.
  3. Its something to do with the rope getting picked/snagged/ruined in a crotch. I have done it with 1/2 inch yale and it seems ok, that was until the mexican burnt it by lowering a lump too quickly haha
  4. Could have been one of the other teams mate.... there are 4-6 depending. Hows it going lad?
  5. Couple of pics from todays (ongoing) job. Maintenance prune an avenue of 100 limes, in a nature reserve, crown lift - deadwood. -7 today, nice climbing weather... And the last pic couldn't resist taking, in a bistro in Stockholm, me and Steve Gale were sniggering to ourselves

  13. Did this job the other week for Mid Wales TS, a mature HC, next to an historic building called Hergest Court. The place is apparently haunted, and the day before, 'ghostbusters' were there with their techy machinery. Anyway, dismantle 2 pines, and fell this chestnut. Had a pull rope onto a 5T winch, down a bank. Fell and leave for the groundskeeper to clear up, home by 12. Sorry for the poor quality pics.
  14. Stockholm
  15. Are you a climber?
  16. Cheers guys, well, I did a week trial, got on well, varied work, lots of climbing and pruning, some dismantling, nice scenery. Snowed a foot thus/fri, and there was no stopping. Frozen rope, iced up carabiners and hitch, made it 10 time harder... but got thru! So Mike Jackson (tradvard) has offered me the job, will be staying for the foreseeable future, lots of work, and good money, so Im stopping. Great setup, lots of good gear (including an Avant), and good lads to boot.
  17. So I made it to Stockholm, first days climbing today for large English run firm, very efficient company, lots of staff, all very friendly, deadwooding oaks, then felled some willows, cut and stack in the snow. All in all great, recommend it to any climber with no ties. Now to the bar for another ....
  18. I was out celebrating me birthday with a load of cocktails, now I wish I had a new head.
  19. Gobbed step cuts, work well too if you do a humbolt face cut, then you can slide off the piece with ease. Nice video, looking forward to next week.... Where we going drinking?
  20. Got bits here and there, Sweden week on monday. Got any thermals I can borrow
  21. I used some 3 strand white stuff in America, was ok, not very nice for tying knots, and not so smooth if natural rigging. But it worked!
  22. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ARF
