  1. Ian, have you tried attaching the hand ascender to the RW?
  2. Where and what you been upto Rupe?
  3. But Al, do you climb trees?
  4. Exactly! TITS!
  5. Mozza?
  6. I know, Ive been using them for 10 years The tracked 230 was a good machine too!
  7. TW are a great machine!
  8. Always makes me smile seeing those tiny chippers.
  9. I position my anchor point in the highest central point of the tree, then for work position I use my lanyard. Slightly confused by the question. Can you elaborate?
  10. Oh, well if thats all it is, then you'll get used to it. Man up princess! 'Need a tampon for that?'
  11. I still dont understand. How did you manage with a blakes hitch/prussick?
  12. I dont see what your problem is? You know you are supposed to pull down with 1 or 2 hands depending on friction and strength/lardiness, maybe 5 times, then pull thru the slack right?
  13. Your VT probably aint tied right. Why didnt you go higher so your FS would fit? Experiment with different cord, I swear by Yale silverstreak. 5 wraps no braids, tends great, have to have the right length though. Good luck
  14. It aint like that everywhere ursox, this is the worst example! Here on Long Island are some top companies, with all the gear! Prentice loaders, big equipment, and bloody good climbers! A bit old school, bbut I worked with some of em, and they are good, believe me.
  15. Cool, so with a loop onto the hand ascender to the foot, with the pantin on the other, it would work pretty nice? My next purchase is a hand ascender...
  16. It was more of a rhetorical question. It doesn't really matter who or how long Ive been doing it, or how many trees I've felled or rigged out... As its been said many times, the ones who shout the loudest have more to prove than those who don't shout at all. Jus' sayin
  17. Carl, can you connect the hand ascender to the RW, to advance it?
  18. Pretty darn amazing skills! I was cringing through half of that climb! White knuckle stuff!
  19. This guy is insane! 'Mountain climber Alex Honnold seems to defy gravity, scaling sheer, steep rock faces with no rope and apparently no fear. Lara Logan reports.' The ascent of Alex Honnold - 60 Minutes - CBS News
  20. So why didnt it lay into the fall? what did the hinge look like?
  21. So, how many different tree men have you worked with? I take it you're travelled the globe seeking out the best?

    Strops

TBH I only ever use wirecore lanyards these days... A simple pulley, a fixe, or I have a DMM Pinto, and a simple VT tied with Yale Silverstreak does the job for me. Each to their own!
