Any one else having problems with the 2010 cd rom for closing the years PAYE? have applied the update but seems to have caused problems rather than fixing it. waiting on a response from their helpdesk to tell me what is going on.

it might be just me- i find the system has got quirks but loads of benefits when your used to it

he could - it would help on a long ascent But i find that if someone else is tending the slack you have to keep an eye on the knot to make sure it grips when you stop and you both let go of the rope, putting your weight on the knot (as it can slacken off and not grip straight away without re-dressing) hope that makes sense

Does anybody else have any anecdotal or factual accounts to suggest this? Only asking as I'm thinking of planting a few up for future firewood production in a damp area of a field. sorry if this is a slight derail - just got me thinking whether i might make things worse?

:thumbup:I knew someone would come along with the correct terms - bushes! as Dean said the hole running through the roller body gets full of muck or fouled grease and eventually stops the new grease penetrating through to the poly buhes.

if the splines between the shaft and bottom roller were worn the roller would probably not turn when under any load. does the shaft run through a bearing between the hyd motor and the body somewhere before the roller? could this have colapsed? or perhaps theres a problem with the opposite end to the motor - where the roller revolves on the cup sitting in a recess within the hexagonal body of the roller, theres a plastic cusion which is / should be lubed with grease when you grease the rollers. if this is worn - maybe metal-metal contact explaining the nast noise and it getting better when you grease it? sorry - pure uneducated guess work, and i have no idea of the technical terms.

to be honest I think it would probably get the same response as red and white tape/ traffic cones- I.e red and white tape/ traffic cone blindness

its the having to stop every half hour for half an hour to be polite, explain, and have a chat that bugs me. let me get on! maybe we could get some generic A2 sized reusable signs we can pin up on stakes around the work site with said polite generic explanation....

the wife is a radiographer - its surprising how many people she sees coming through the doors for x rays after "having a go" and not all of them "amateurs" either.

well....... took it to local engineer and the box is working - due to slack belts:blushing: i replaced a worn belt a little while ago and this promptly snapped taking off the fuel line and no doubt giving everything else in there a bit of a whipping when i replaced it again i was a bit worried about over tightening- thinking that this was what caused the belt to break. however i regret asking him to look over it - bottom and top roller splines on the way out, a shake on the rotor - not sure if its the bearings again or the shaft. worn fans potential £900 bill. looking on the bright side at least the no stress is ok:001_tt2: not sure whether to sell it on and replace it with something newer or to fix and keep it going in the knowledge that i know i wont get any surprises.

thanks for the replies i dont realy have any electrickery knowledge - who'd do the fault finding? normal electrician? would probably be handy to repair the defunct box and keeping it as spair, even if i do end up replacing it in the short term.

hi guys may need a new/ replacement grey box. my entec 6 inch (2000/2001 model) has had on and off problems with its no stress over the last month and finally got some time to fix it for good. if its not just a loose wire etc then ive been told i wont be able to source a new part (i havent tried yet), has anyone got any idea of wether retro fitting a newer form from the newer 150's is a sensible posibility or does anyone have a no stress for my model knocking about? thanks for any advice in advance:001_smile:

my understanding is that - yes your train weight can be 7 tons not sure aboout the tacho requirements - not sure if thats down to distance traveled from base?

thanks for the replies guys. got underneath it and gave the drums a tap, took the stud covers off applied a bit o wd40 and the hammer. jacked it up and although stiff theyre now moving! its alway been looked after but not been using it for a couple of months so its just been sat there (unfortunateley not undercover though) it's been on the list of things to do. ie maintenance and TLC - just not had the time. That will give me a kick up the arse to make sure its done. thanks again guys

hi guys. rear wheels apear to have seized (twin axel), not been used for a while, handbrake not left on BTW cant free them by towing/reversing it. bearings or breaks? any ideas on how to solve the problem? thanks guys

mine does this - normally cleaning the terminals to the battery of corosion does the trick. so would go witht he voltage problem as the first point of call.

the wifes car broke down last week, trust added her to the works policy to drive the landy tipper to get to work for the remainder of the policy (4 months till renewal) for £35 squid. Hadnt thought of the advantage of getting her to do log deliveries. Bonus!

accelerating cavity creation in even age stand woods

interesting idea, - how flexible or specific are these critters in choosing a site? ie size cavity, height from ground? but is it realy a viable option? I'd imagine that a cavity of a suitable size would still take some time to form. would be an interesting experiment to carry out over a few years. maybe go the whole hog and provide safe monoliths with cavities cut with a chainsaw (with the front fixed back on) or - let nature (and woodland management) take its course and use boxes in the meantime:001_smile: -
Hi - was of the opinion that they were made by husky too - not sure how much cheeper they are tho - suppose you pay a little extra for the husky name tag

IMO they always look cack when reduced - would tell the customer this (perhaps in a way better worded) - although if thats what they want thats what they want. i'd not enjoy the job but do it to the best of my ability knowing that if i wasnt someone else would be.
