From past experience also, working for a landscaping company, when we used to do the big planting jobs at schools and colleges we used to get speaking to the architects/designers of the planting scheme about why they had placed the trees on the plan where they had. Not ONE had a decent answer, most said because it looked nice! No forethought to right species, right place our nothing... And then the substrate it went into...
