Friend of mine has just left a garden maintenance job and his old boss is demanding he signs a confidentially clause stating he can't go after any of his business or tell anyone about his contracts.sounds like he is losing jobs by the day.thats fine my mate isn't going to go after anyway but he has to sign this to get his money.anyone knows if this is legal. looks like tinges of red in grass if you have a closer look and see any red cotton wool type of tufts it may be red thread its a fungal infection usually pops up in spring time used to spray with dedicate but now been withdrawn if it is usually will disappear during the season just keep it well fed should be okay if it is this. thought crossfire has been withdrawn for leather jackets think it was taken off last year

can anyone with a tw125 please give me the measurements in inches between both outside tyres [tyre to tyre] as looking to see if I can get one round the back of a house thanks

got a jcb sitemaster phone had it 4 years cant fault it cost £100 best phone I ever had very basic phone calls and texts but that's all I need. you can throw these about and they just keep on going.

Got a large hedge removal in Ashley Heath near Ringwood. mixed hedges, conifers and a few medium trees. Client was going to burn it in the garden but now had second thoughts wants to chip and leave on site and will work it into there borders. Looked into nematodes a while ago was told by my amenity supplier that you had a better chance of killing the leather jackets if you threw the actual box at the lawn as he says most of the nematodes will be dead before you open the box as they have been stuck on the shelf so long. did worry me a bit when he said this as having to charge for this service and not wanting to get clients on the phone saying still not dead what are you going to do about it?

Just found out today Merit turf has now been withdrawn and have to use any old stock by Sept this year. Nobody is now selling it is there anything else that can be used to treat leather jackets and chaffer grubs where I used to get it from they say at the moment there is nothing on the commercial market. I did hear Bayer may be bringing it back under another name but don't know if its true or not.

been seeing a lot of old machines being sold recently 15plus years old, how much life would they have left? [how long a piece of string] is there a shelf life on older chippers? looking for 125 about 5-9 years old. budget! see what people are looking to get for them. reading lots of post regarding old entecs that cant get some parts for older machines. don't want to spend my money and find cant get a part when it breaks down this my thinking on getting a 125 and access to getting round the back of my place.

want something I can tow and the 125 really ticks all my boxes don't do tree work every day and don't expect too as do a lot of maintenance but fed up stacking it all onto trucks and trailers and have now found somewhere that will take all my chip so wont have to pay to dump chippings

I am after a chipper have been for a while. want a tw125 but not been able to find anything and when I do its already gone. Just come across a entec cs18hp 1999 can anyone give me hints what to look for if I have a look at it quite a bit of money for the year [i think] unless anyone has a tw125 they may be thinking about selling in the near future. wanting tw125 as don't have much room where I am and can get this round my back garden and have used them and think there a great little chipper.

went to see a oak today has TPO on it been in decline for the past few years. Lot of ivy on it. Had a good look for any fungal bodies couldn't find anything. The tree is on a bank and Lhs of trunk is covered 2ft high of soil than the Rhs. found a small cavity at base of tree stuffed full of snails then pushed a screwdriver into the wood in the cavity it was like pushing into a elastic band wood very spongy. Is this brown rot. Any thoughts on next step just going through my tree books as still learning. Inside the cavity was very dry. Going to go back Sat to have another proper look sorry no pics very tight access to cavity. Client wants it down. targets house and neighbours driveway. Good sized tree 50ft plus.

Just been down Longham Mowers in Longham Dorset just informed me they had 12 saws stolen last week up to a 661 thieves took off roof above the saws in the showroom cut wires holding saws took them from the roof with a hook on a pole as the room is heat detecting and sensored. unbelievable.

I have been reading the threads for a while on the wee chippers and am looking to get a good second hand m400 or m500 cant decide on which one as reading not much in them apart from the price. I am in dorset but wont mind to travel to get a good one. what do people think get m400 or m500 obviously is all down to the price but want to get it right and don't wasn't to buy again if its a wrong choice. they look absolutely great for what I need as got no where to put a towable chipper at my place.ideal for getting round the back gardens which save the endless dragging. cant wait to get one now.

while doing a job today a lady approached me while on break and explained she had been given grant of consent to remove 3 trees and now had them refused. After further speaking to hear the consent was given in 1986 with no time limit by the local council and she had the original documents, work was applied this year to do the work and the council refused they gave her the reasons that the 1986 decision carried a 12mth life. [this was not written down] in perpetuity. also due to there computer was only going back 10 years they also refused on the fact it was not on the system. she has since appealed which was dismissed she has been told in writing the secretary of state has no authority to determine whether the 1986 consent remains valid as authority resides with the courts. she told me if she went to court and won the council would still refuse her to fell these trees. I know the consent was given 29 years ago but no time limit was set and she is just looking for advice. I have never come across anything like this before and looking for help for her. thanks in advance
