  1. arabic penguin crossed with a peregrine falcon........mmmmmmm......well I could just about believe it, it is cornwall.....
  2. Evil evil machine. there are various versions of that on the market. I have seen one with only four teeth on it which is apparently less lethal, but they all scare the hell out of me. But they are very effective.
  3. Good pics. It must be a nightmare working on a horizontal site though.
  4. haha-spotted:sneaky2: Really nice timber im told. It is certainly straight grained and relatively close grained. I put it into thick slabs- one was 5"!- so i can resaw it on the bandsaw for a finer finish. Thats assuming the bands wont jam up with the hideous amout of gunmy white sap that oozes out. It has very nice colour to it also, and if im right, it sands to a pretty good finish. I am hoping that by leaving it for a few months in stick i will be able to re-saw it without too much of the sap problems. BTW, I used to be a necrophiliac..............until some rotten %$^& split on me!
  5. Great stuff Reg. A pleasure to watch, and very aspirational. May i just echo Deans comment.
  6. its because stoves are more efficient than open fires which will take most of the tarry stuff with the wasted heat. As there is little wasted heat from woodburners the crap just condenses.
  7. woodwarm are really really really good.
  8. TBH i really dont agree with the sentiment that these scum would ever go down the legal route....not in their code of (un)ethics.
  9. Honestly.....i shower everyday:confused1:
  10. Ta steve- i wasnt sure how hard to 'persuade' them!
  11. Anyone know how to get the straps off a stein kask for washng.........lets just say mine are a tad smelly:blushing:
  12. 3/4 months!!!!! I'm on every 6-8 weeks at 3000 mile intervals!! You must have a load of work close to home.
  13. So are we going with p.ramorum? This was my initial reaction, but i was surprised that the gardeners at the place didnt recognise it, which made me think it could be something that needed posting on the Talk.
  14. A week with stevie required marc- you'll be an exsquirt then:sneaky2:
  15. How big a tree is it?? And husky bars are oregon bars BTW
  16. WTF is a stumpery?????????? Yew root balls command top dollar, like walnut, because of the whorls in it etc. A walnut rootball can command prices of up to 10k for the right one to daimler benz etc.
