  5. Spoke to a local tree company who got undercut by a firm from "Somewhere about a 100 miles away" on a one day job for 3 men, tracked chipper and a 7.5t wagon for £400.........
  6. My Puma "land rover" couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding!
  7. Even a small Compact and skidder winch can move some big bits of timber if needed! Not sure if the link works!
  8. I use a diamond disk in an angle grinder and to take four pairs off the machine, cleaned, sharpened, and back on in about an hour. Will try Jonsie when their past it!
  9. The Alcathoe's Bat has been recorded as crossing the Channel although previously thought to be too small and weak for the crossing.
  10. Nice video Dean. Of the 3000+ Bats tested between 1986-2002 only two were found positive for rabies (EBL), both Daubenton's. Bats will come very close as they will often take the midges, etc that appear around you and above your head in warm weather.
  11. They are the only true flying mammal whose natural habitat and feeding area's are in decline due to increased building, agricultural changes and uses of pesticides, over management of trees............
  12. Good advice No point hanging around if the weather is bad because they wont come out.
  13. If you are pulling logs you would be better fitting "Latch type hooks" to the chains as the small spring loaded keepers on normal hooks dont last very long when pulled through the mud/undergrowth. When choking chains always make sure the the chain is being pulled into the hook when under tension and NOT onto the open side of the hook/keeper.
