  1. my wee hips would ache, so i would just tie it on the my climbing line, made it easier going up:001_smile:
  2. in johns day, they wrote on slate. imaginie delivering a bag load of them:scared1:
  3. never tried one mate:001_smile:
  4. mine is pretty tight, it was like new when i got it, i have replaced most of the valves, i bleed the air tanks every night and always have done. but crap still does build up. but i am going to make a point of getting them cleaned out regularely.
  5. i dont have a 660 pete, i have used one with a 30 inch bar, it did the job but was gutless. it was like an 026 with a 18inch bar. have only ever worked as big as a 36inch on the 088 so would be interested how it does on bigger. my first 084 had an 18inch bar on it:scared1:now that was a saw. i hit a big nail one day and knocked off 17 teeth, the chain was on its last legs though.:001_smile:i miss the oil button that the 084 had, dont really think it made much difference but it made me feel really impotant pressing it.
  6. try hanging one from your harness:scared1:
  7. i planted 3000 daffodil bulbs for a school end of last year. cool. i was also told that in the states when the summer ends they ship thousands of hives across the country to work them again, the bees are knackered and their imunity is crap. also the demand for wheat is so high, farmers are planting it and it doesnt give off any pollen.
  8. why i am i driving an old 07 plate, me needs to go shopping me thinks:001_smile:cheers steve
  9. yikes!!wow, disgusting, yet frank may find it slightly arousing.
  10. comfy, light, waterproof. oh and cool looking
  11. its much of a mucmness, the problem with leasing a work vehicle is that you are almost guaranteed to do some damage to it, so they will hang you out to dry, if you want to keep your money, hire purchase. if you have a big pile of money and want to spend it, buy new, get big tax relief(60% on comercial the first year) and you will get a warranty. so you can almost guarantee happy no more expense motoring. personally i wouldnt borrow for more than 3 years on a works vehicle.
  12. i agree with you 100% edd, i work close to home, my yard is on a farm, i usually have to reverse in around tight winding driveways, and most of our towns are built on a hill, and i use mine solely as a chip truck, but i really need a hiab built on the rear and stick a chipper on the front. after reading hucks coments about his running cost i realise i do not carry out regular maintenance till it breaks down, so i had a quick look round her today, spotted a few potential headaches to come and ordered a few parts. job done, i have found it is the air system that has given me the most hassle, that could of been avoided by regular clean outs.
  13. i should have angela, i should have:001_tongue:
  14. i have been thinking about this since i read someones post the other day. i bought a pair of north face goretex trainers. 75 quid. i have had them 3 years and they are as good as new. i dont mind the cost of something as long as it does what it says. my trainers are waterproof and hard wearing. i used to buy aquafell climbing boots, they said they were waterproof and hard wearing. first day, the rollerball lace thing broke, within a month the toes were worn through, and within a few weeks of winter, wet feet.
  15. gotcha, there is a company up this way that will spray your garden green. so you can scalp the life out it in the middle of summer, dont bother doing any kind of maintenance, give them a bell and bobs your uncle.(we never had a hollowtiner at the course i used to work in years ago)
  16. cheers mate, my mum just handed it in, i was 8 weeks old when she took it:001_tongue:
  17. aahh, the wanabee mog. this is what i do not get. you want 4x4, you want diffs, you want a bit of grunt, and a winch. you have it. so why, when a machine is made that does all that(mog) and is renouned for being one of the best 4x4 multi purpose vehicles in the world, people say they are crap:confused1:i can understand if you think they are over priced and maybe high maintenance. but crap. i wouldnt get out my yard in yours mate, i like all the galvy, nice bit of fabrication. i even like the truck, i dont have one, dont want one. i have covered all the reasons i have a mog, i am selling mine, but only to replace it with another.
  18. was it storm damage or big time pollarding that made it that way steve?
  19. i was also told yesterday that the massive bumble bees about just now are the queens. the ones that fly into the cab while you are driving and make me nervous:scared1:
  20. he is a hungry boy:scared1:
