  1. are you having a shot at my title jas, i will try and make this as simple as possible for you. take a pic of the tree. different colours means different stuff, if you know what the colours mean, and what it relates to, then you know if the tree is happy or sad.
  2. i was up an ivy infested skinny sycamore with a t shirt on at the time:mad1:
  3. there lies your slippy hip problem, get braces mate, when you put on your harness you can really pull up the trousers, then tighten below your trouser waist line and it will stay there, make sure your shirt, jacket is well underneath to. make sure its really tight mate. oh and your nips will soon tuffin up:001_smile:
  4. yikes, cherry wont like that. put that back on and draw a line straight across from the nieghbours house
  5. i take it you are wearing a belt instead of braces mat
  6. take the 4 main leaders out it at that hieght and dress up the edges, its a garden cherry, if you do this now it will have a chance to survive a long life, leave it any higher and nieghbours will get scunnered and butcher it, we arent talking text book tree pruning here mat, i am being realistic. force the internal growth and it will be a hedgecutter job every year and it will be nice and tight and suit the garden size, offering screen to the houses and a nice bit of shade and colour:001_smile:
  7. did you get those nasty hail showers tom with the gale force winds thrown in for a giggle?
  8. hieght of nieghbours house, a cherry should have a flat top, like a china cup. that should take about 10mins. approx 6 cuts and a play with the loppers.80quid mat
  9. landlords are going to have to get this done for properties soon(is that what you are talking about dean)and the property will get a relevant grade for how efficient the insulation is. the better the grade the more you will get for rent and vice versa.
  10. you will notice how the brash is for the stem and further up i used the "light-heavy" to take the thumpity bounce. oh and i wasnt chipping, so let the gardeners dig it out:001_tongue:
  11. i take it it gets all stuck with sap jjg
  12. gives me shivers every time i hear it mick, nice one lol
  13. you are a quality poster john, i am honoured my friend. oh and all the trees you see were stolen by the previous owner from the m74 behind his house a few years back
  14. stick at it dean and maybe one day you will:001_tongue:
  15. there was one the same beside it, and i took down the 2 conifers as well, the birches were 60footers, a shame really. the guy had just had enough of them, they were pretty close to the nieghbours. if only all trees were as easy as birches to do. maybe the boys will get a play one day mate at a show.
  16. my name is sue, and i am going to kill you:scared1:
  17. this mornings wee job, i was just subbying to a gardener with a chipper today, hence the crash bang wallop look of the site.:001_smile:oh and one of alexander and his new bag
  18. a nice fell up the quiet road would of been nice tom, lol good job
  19. i was on the chat room thingy there and felt my ears burning. i love you too frank:blushing:
  20. my wee hips would ache, so i would just tie it on the my climbing line, made it easier going up:001_smile:
  21. in johns day, they wrote on slate. imaginie delivering a bag load of them:scared1:
  22. never tried one mate:001_smile:
  23. mine is pretty tight, it was like new when i got it, i have replaced most of the valves, i bleed the air tanks every night and always have done. but crap still does build up. but i am going to make a point of getting them cleaned out regularely.
  24. i dont have a 660 pete, i have used one with a 30 inch bar, it did the job but was gutless. it was like an 026 with a 18inch bar. have only ever worked as big as a 36inch on the 088 so would be interested how it does on bigger. my first 084 had an 18inch bar on it:scared1:now that was a saw. i hit a big nail one day and knocked off 17 teeth, the chain was on its last legs though.:001_smile:i miss the oil button that the 084 had, dont really think it made much difference but it made me feel really impotant pressing it.
